Ok. But now he must feel like he’s got the approval to do it from on high. The over the top rhetoric on both sides has to stop.

ETA: and yes, it must start with the POTUS.

It bears at least some scrutiny. There's no question that Trump's forceful anti-journalist rhetoric would have resounded loudly with him. After years of being content to harass and intimidate, he picked this moment to actually pick up a gun and act.

That's an interesting thought process... one that might have some meat to it.

Why did he, after all these years, suddenly decide to pick up a gun and go helter skelter on the newspaper ?

What's so different about this particular timeframe vs earlier years ?

Maybe he thought doing so now would somehow make him a 'hero' in the eyes of the media-hating Trumpette cheerleaders ?

The real question here is how on earth could a guy that raised this many red flags have ever been allowed to own a gun?

Seems like a lot of it was years ago. Not sure what there is that is more recent. Clearly there is something recent, but we don't know what it was yet.

I don't care if it was a century ago, the guy was and still is clearly unstable and with serious anger issues that should have set off flashing lights and sirens for miles around him. He shouldn't have been allowed access to a squirt gun let along actual firearms.

I'm certainly not disagreeing with you.

And the 2015 Tweet about Trump is especially enlightening and disturbing.

But are you expecting police to watch people and take away their guns when they haven't been a danger for years?

I don't know what this guy has done recently. It may turn out to be plenty. I'm waiting to see.

I knew literally from the first word "prior" that someone else wrote it. And I mean literally - when does Dolt 45 use the word "Prior"?

Also, this entire white house can stuff it, regardless of the shooters' actual motives. another group that their own boss whips up hatred against day by day, and now want to be friends. No. Same thing with Milo-whatever, who I strongly doubt plays any role on any matter outside of whipping up 4chan hate mobs online.

Anne Arundel county's police seem to be pretty good from what little I've seen from them - certainly far better than Bmore police - give them some more time and let them get to the bottom of the matter. I know Annapolis has it's own police as well, but I have no idea about them.

That's a good point; but in my opinion, the actual typed word "and" (rather than ampersands) and the lack of Randomly capitalized Words are the more substantial tells that it's not him.
 
It is easy to get a gun in the USA, whether a person is suitable or not to have one.

Because his crime wasn't a felony and because he wasn't her husband, so his harassment doesn't fall under the domestic abuse clause either.

And yet here again we see a guy that is openly hostile and threatening towards women, who then goes and gets a gun and starts shooting people. Can't say the warnings weren't there, it's just that everyone refuses to look at them and take action to prevent the disaster before it happens, because it's more politically correct to mop up the innocent blood of the hundreds slain afterwards, than to upset the "rights" of a misogynist by taking away his guns first, even if he might not have been planning to go crazy with them.
