I think surveillance cameras had more to do with it, but I can't prove that.


I think, though, that there is one category other than rape that is increasing in number. That category is "mass shootings". I could be wrong about that, though. It may be that they just get more media coverage today.

As a separate category from "shootings" in general, maybe. "Drive-by's" were common in the eighties, I don't know if "mass shootings" was a category then to be tabulated.
 
76 additional mass shootings since I last posted on 9/19.

This one happened a few days ago in the town I used to live in. Police are saying fights broke out in a dormitory at Lincoln University, a historically black college, and two students, with prior disciplinary incidents, were evicted from the University.

Friends of the students rolled into town from Kansas City to distribute their version of justice and pulled a drive-by shooting at a community center owned by Lincoln University.

Four people were injured.
 
With the election end in sight, maybe we can get back to body counts instead of ballot counts.
 
I will keep a running tab on deaths versus injuries in mass shootings while the counting of Trump versus Biden continues and the outcome is decided.

De'Angelo Hawley Jr., 19 years old, of Kansas City, has been arrested and charged with multiple felonies. The Proud Boys organization are refusing to answer questions about the incident.

Argument over a dog leads to shoot out on a busy street corner.


November 8 – Virginia Beach, Virginia – 0 dead, 4 injured.
Unidentified man stops his car, gets out, walks up to a Section 8 apartment building and opens fire.


Injuries take a commanding lead. 12 dead vs 31 injured.
 
November 9 – Fort Worth, Texas – 0 dead, 4 injured.
Smokey's Paradise Food Mart was the scene of an argument that led to the shootings. Police say it may be "gang-related", probably the Aryan Brotherhood versus the KKK.

Today's total: 12 dead vs 35 injured.
 
November 10 – Gastonia, North Carolina – 0 dead, 6 injured.
Two off-duty cops working security and four patrons shot during a fight in da club. Two oppressed minorities fighting the system were arrested.

November 10 – Tampa, Florida – 2 dead, 4 injured.
"Neighborhood dogged by violence" (the same Tampa neighborhood had eight people shot two days earlier).

If they resolve the Georgia runoff soon, and the Democrats win, you might have to turn your attention to gun control.

ETA: And....come to think of it......that might be why the Democrats won't win Georgia, but the voters are full of surprises.

There is no question that gun violence is a serious problem.

President Obama once referred to the epidemic of gun violence in the US as a "unique mayhem" that afflicts our country. It is far beyond time that our legislators do something to meaningfully address this issue. The recent collapse of the National Rifle Association, ironically as a result of exploitation by its very own leadership, may signal a weakening of organized blind-resistance-to-change that might allow something to finally happen.

While there are not descriptions of suspects in every shooting, I'm going to go ahead and guess the majority of these incidents did not involve white supremacist terrorism I keep hearing about.

White supremacist terrorism certainly makes up a very small portion of rampage killings, but it's much more common than killings in the name of any somewhat left-wing or social progressive cause (BLM, antifa, etc) the ones that have shocked white America in the past two years or so at most.
