To boycott company because of dog torturing CEO

Not sure if this link will work because censorship and stuff but if you do manage to work your way into it you'll see 1%er and Job Creator CEO Desmond Hague torturing his dog for kicks (by using literal kicks) in an elevator he apparently didn't know had newfangled things called video cameras installed in it.

His company is called Centerplate and they make their money by providing those $18 hot dogs you can buy in pro sports stadiums.

Specifically these stadia:

Levi's Stadium, Santa Clara
Notre Dame
Tropicana Field, Tampa
Qualcomm Stadium, San Diego
Fedex Field, Washington, DC
Colonial Life Arena At the University of South Carolina
KFC Yum! Center (a real thing at the University of Louisville)
Safeco Field, Seattle
AT&T Park, San Francisco
Superdome, New Orleans
Belmont Park, New York
Sun Life Stadium, Miami

Now this raises the issue of whether I should boycott their highly priced products when I go to AT&T park later this month. On the one hand I'd hate to subsidize a company that employs a gleeful dog torturer. On the other hand boycotting said company would make me a dirty communist according to Fox News commentator Sean Hannity.

So....what to do?

Oh, you can never boycott a company based on what the CEO does. I've been told that on this very Forum. And you (and I) are communists (according to Hannity) anyway. I don't know about the dirty part. Is that what concerns you?

It's all so simple.

I have a saying.

"Freedom is manifested in the ability to choose, not in the choice one makes."

For example, choosing to having an abortion no more constitutes an application of a pro-choice position than does choosing not to have an abortion.

more on topic, I say go to the game and don't buy any hot dogs. Bring food if you can, then you can be smug in your sense of moral superiority and economical.

The problem with this boycott, however, is that you are not a direct customer of his. This combined with the fact that you are just one individual and not a large group, this will have little impact on their bottom line so will be completely useless in affecting any change.

Please note, however, that the smug sense of moral superiority is often enough of a reason, as I have not patronized Chick-Fil-A since the anti-gay kerfuffle.
 
I certainly would need little reason to boycott $18 hot dogs beyond the pricetag. That CEO is quite a mutt. Why do I have the sneaking suspicion that it was his girlfriend's/wife's dog?

There's no audio. Maybe the dog was sass-mouthing him about the nutritional value of the crap his company sells.

Does this guy have kids?
 
That sucks. The guy needs to be charged with animal cruelty. I would definitely go out of my way not to buy anything from any companies of his.

first, tell Sean Hannity to **** himself with a gross of Centerplate hot dogs. Then, sell tickets. Afterwards, take a bath and tell Sean you may be a communist but you are not a dirty one and tar-and feather him and throw him in the brier patch. Repeat with Hague.. You know you'll feel better for it!!!!!

Remember the tar needs to be hot and sticky for this to work correctly!!!:):):):):)
 
The dog is obviously afraid of him, this is no isolated incident.

I didn't need this video to boycott mediocre yet stupid-expensive concession fare. It does neatly fit my preconceived notions of the type of people involved in such outfits. :cool:

As for the "just you boycotting the product won't hurt the CEO" line of thinking, I vehemently disagree. In the long term, it will. Unlike Chik-Fil-A, I don't think this CEO can fall back on legions of proud dog-kickers eager to rally his cause.
