Bridgegate Trial: 5 Things to Know as Christie Traffic Scandal Reaches Court
Jury selection begins. Opening arguments are scheduled for Sept. 19, and the trial is expected to last about six weeks....

Alan Zegas, Wildstein's attorney, has previously said that "evidence exists" showing Christie was aware of the lane closures as they were happening. What that evidence is, and if it exists, remains to be seen....

Even Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has weighed in on the scandal, insisting during the primaries that Christie (who has since endorsed Trump) "totally knew about" the scheme and that "there's less than one percent chance" the governor was unaware....

Looks like some cats are coming out of the bag.

Assistant US Attorney Vikas Khanna said former Christie confidante and Port Authority executive David Wildstein will testify that he told Christie about the plan to close lanes on the George Washington Bridge while it was causing traffic problems in Fort Lee, New Jersey, where the mayor was a political rival of Christie.

Looks like David doesn't want to spend the rest of his life in prison. Everyone knew Christie was aware of the bridge closing the moment it happened. This may end up being a bad week for Trump as well

Admittedly both sides in these trials have an interest in making Christie out as a villain.

Oh the government doesn't seem to have a solid case against him, mostly because he was smart enough not to put his retaliation into email. His lackeys were not so smart.

As far as both sides of the trial are concerned he ordered it. Hell his boss Trump figured he ordered it as well.

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie was told about the lane closures that led to the "Bridgegate" scandal a month before they occurred, a former aide testified on Friday, contradicting Christie's statements that he only learned about them afterward.

Bridget Kelly, the governor's former deputy chief of staff, told jurors in Newark federal court she discussed the plan to shut down access lanes at the George Washington Bridge with Christie in August 2013 and again in September as it was ongoing. She testified she had been frightened of Christie, saying he had once thrown a water bottle at her.
I like the detail - it sounds totally believable :-)
