Tiger Woods bombs out in latest tourny.

The data set is only two, but the armchair psychiatrist in me says Woods won't win another tournament for a long time, maybe never. I think he fed off the sycophantic adulation he got from the media and the fans on the course, and now he isn't getting that. He's a god with no followers now, purposeless and adrift.[/armchair psychiatrist]

Betting against you. He wins before this year is out. At least once.

Look, he played badly (in his own estimation), yet shot 11 under at Augusta ... and finished fourth. Not sure what happened at Quail Hollow, but I don't accept that outlier data point as strong enough to influence his game.

His problem? Hit the effing fairway. He's been through that before, and corrected it.

You're on. :) I'll bet you...whatever can be bet over the Innertubes.

Yeah, it's a rash prediction but not without some reason. When he had to come through on Sunday at the Masters, he uncharacteristically couldn't. He looked psychologically beaten to me, and my gut reaction was it was because he wasn't getting the support of the gallery that he normally did and it weighed on him. I only saw part of Saturday's round at Quail Hollow so I didn't see Woods play, but his scores sure reinforced my feeling. But time will tell.

And I'm kicking myself for missing McElroy's round on Sunday. That must have been awesome to see.

From now until the end of FedEx cup, the proposed stakes of our friendly wager is:

Tumblehome bets Tiger wins no tournaments
Darth bets Tiger wins at least one tournament

The stakes are that the loser makes a ten dollar, $US, donation to the JREF.

Do we have a wager? :) We have witnesses if you say yes.

I never cared about Tiger Woods the golfer, but I gotta say I rather like Tiger Woods the insatiable sex machine :)

Just worth noting, most people are leaning DR's way.

Tiger is currently tied with Mickelson with the best odds to win this week, even.

"Woods missed the cut for only the sixth time in his professional career after rounds of 74 and 79. That alone should be no real cause for concern but it was the manner of his early exit that was most alarming. By his own incredible standards, this was a train crash the golfing world never expected to see. Woods looked like a man with the weight of the world on his shoulders but insisted the distractions in his private life were not to blame."
Right now Tiger has a lot on his mind. His wife left him and took his children with her. His reputation is smeared all over the news. The other golphers don't respect him anymore. Its my guess that this has taken its toll.

I bet that as time goes by he'll feel better and his golf game will be great again.

I believe the line in question was from Bill Murray, not Chase or Aykroyd.

The only concern I have hear is that, you "believe" the line was from Murray?

Actually, the line started with the Scottish guy (Spackler calls him Sandy, but in the beginning, Smales yells his last name - something like McHume).

"I want to kill every gopher on the course"
"Correct me if I'm wrong, Sandy, but if I kill all the the golfers, they're going to lock me up and throw away the key"
"Gophers, man, the little furry brown creatures."

"It's not my fault nobody can understand you"

It's a bet, and for a good cause. Good idea.

By the way, do you happen to know anyone who's good at mind control? ;)

Well, I root against Tiger now, but not because of TEH SEXOR!!!

Here's what he should have done:

Call a press conference within a week of the clubbing event and say, "My wife caught me cheating. I feel bad that I hurt her. I feel worse for my kids. But guess what? THey're *********** rich. How many of you would trade places with my wife right now? I'll do what I can, but they will live great, luxurious lives because I can hit a little stationary ball into a hole."

Then he shows up at the Masters with a goatee (universal symbol of evil) and openly solicits hook-ups from the gallery. He runs with the villain motiff making golf interesting. When in public, he's surrounded by an entourage of strippers.

Instead he's a "sex addict." Wimpy.

So, being hurt by a cheating husband hurts less when said husband is rich?
Should we see how far we can extrapolate this?

It may hurt about the same, but the greenback poultice has greater healing powers when the husband is rich. See Mrs Bryant and that ring ...
Should we see how far we can extrapolate this?
Kobe Bryant seems to have set the diamond standard, eh?

Uh-oh!

"
PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – Dressed in his Sunday red shirt, Tiger Woods bowed his head and sat in silence in front of his locker.
He was supposed to be on the ninth hole at The Players Championship. In another stunning twist for someone whose life used to be so predictable, Woods withdrew suddenly with neck pain that he fears might be a bulging disk.
Woods was so frustrated that he slammed his golf shoe to the floor while taking questions from three reporters."

Is it too late to get in on this bet?

Yes, unless you offer me odds. Bet is still ten, but given this injury, I want 5 to 2 odds: my ten (donation if I lose) to your 25 (donation if you lose). Want that bet?

With two bets on the table, I can't take any more action.

When I heard that Tiger had an injury that caused withdrawal, with tingling down to his arm, I thought "Tiger's problems of late were not caused by a bulging disk so much as a bulging dick." Cracked the joke to my brother in law as we watched The Players summary on TV.

I heard from a friend this morning that Jason Whitlock tweeted almost the same thing.

Huh, maybe I should have been a sportswriter.
