This woman scares me...

I'm not totally convinced that it wasn't an act put on for the sake of the show.

Each family in the show receives $50,000 at show's end. More than enough to motivate people to put on such an act for the sake of being picked to be on the show.
 
I can understand your doubt, but here's the thing. All those various statements like "I'm not a fence sitter" and so on? Those are direct quotes from a massive number of church sermony type speeches I've heard over the years. She's either done her homework on "crazy bible thumper" or actually knows all this stuff and intentionally went overboard just for money, which would go against her own beliefs anyway.

For my part, she seems to actually believe all that stuff (well she acts like it, quotes a large number of bible sermon things, and generally doesn't indicate having an original thought in her head), but I'm pretty sure the presence of the camera did play a part in how totally insane she got for that last part. I think she wanted to "send a message" to America on how good a christian she is, like "I'm being watched by everyone in America, I better not make a fool of myself", and yes I'm fully aware of how funny a supposed thought that would be, but just talk with some people in the bible belt and you see it's actually pretty common. These people LIKE drama, an epic event, they need it. She WANTED to be in a huge struggle against evil, to be the lone person standing for what's right when everyone around her is against her.

Or she faked it all, but she had to have done some homework and taken some acting classes to get it down pat. I'm leaning towards what seems more likely...
 
What religion is in question here? Through all the woman's ranting I couldnt understand. I remember hearing astrology and some other things.

She's an uber christian. She was ranting against astrology, wicca and everything else because it's from satan.

She just takes christianity more seriously than most christians in the USA.
 
The really crazy thing is that she's made her own CD, been on Jay Leno, attended the Billboard Music Awards... How do I know this? Am I some crazy stalker? Am I a uber fan of insane religious nuts? Oh no! You too can follow her every move on her website!!!

So is it your position that the more fundamental a christian is, the more mentally ill they are?

I happen to think this woman is just a christian who is more religious than most christians, but not quite as religious as abortion-clinic bombers.

No, that is not my position. I think she is mentally ill because of her titanic mood swings and her inability to socialize property. Then again I am no head doctor. There is a fine line between mentally ill and jerk.
 
I'd go for mentally ill, at the very least, in need of anti-depressants.

My mom is like that, not that hysterical, but she thinks Satan and his demons are everywhere, testing her. I remember being a kid and if something was lost or misplaced, she would blame demons, not human error and forgetfulness.

she wants to be the star, and doesnt trust anyone else to get it right, shed probably crap at Jesus Himself cause He wasnt doing what she wanted.

Where do you draw the line? Delusions that gods are real is not a mental illness? WHat about delusions of demons and devils? Delusions of sasquatch? How about the position that children should be killed if they are disobedient?
