In defence of Jersey's Senator Freddie Cohen, I think Randi missed the point with his line ... "That silence you hear from Mr. Langlois and from Senator Freddie Cohen is likely to continue. It is the defence-of-choice that superstition has over reason."
It seems to me that the senator was the one who believed the geologists and drafted a law in response to their findings, but the rest of the members over-ruled him and he had to withdraw this law. Freddie is a "good guy" here - he is currently hoping that two bore holes will convince his colleagues of the serious of the problem that is being poo-poo'd by the dowser - he just needs a bit of support to prove Langlois is talking out of his ar$e ...
