I'm sorry. You're right. What I meant to say is that you think solipsism is more likely to cause randomness than materialism, but that doesn't change the rest of my argument, and the presumption still remains unfounded.PixyMisa said:AAAAAARGH!
I NEVER SAID THAT.
It's not an unfounded assumption, because I NEVER SAID THAT.

That is not even conceptually possible.
Yes, you're preaching to the choir. It is, however, also why materialism is completely useless as well.Originally posted by PixyMisa
And again this is why solipsism is completely useless.
Materialism says nothing about what happens and doesn't happen. It merely says that whatever happens occurs in a literal sense. Our self-consistent experiences, which are not determined to be either materialistic or solipsistic, tell us about their own mechanics. On solipsism, a contradictory philosophy such as materialism would be inconsistent with it.Originally posted by PixyMisa
Anything at all, ANYTHING, is consistent with solipsism.
Materialism, however, says some things don't happen. Because of that, materialism helps us understand the world, and decide how to respond appropriately to our experiences. What's more, materialism works.
