This is just frakking WHACKED

Generally, when a mod deletes something, you don't repost it.

As it came from the Straight Dope and appeared to be a verbatim copy & paste, I believe Lisa S. removed it due to possible copyright issues.

Part of me wants to say that Amena-na-na... whatever wants to distract the World and especially Iran's population from his failures to follow through on his campaign promises and will say really crazy things in order to do that. He knows that the US is too over extended in Iraq to do anything violent to him without his counterattack's being much worse, so he isn't risking much.

The less mature part of me wonders, "If He loves Israel so much why doesn't he marry it?"

You know we employ an Iranian girl, although she's not on my team. I have to say that she - and her Iranian friends - seem a lot more sensible than stereotypes and the mass media would like us to believe.

Tell me you are not serious with this post, are you?

Let's clear my last post to avoid any more confusion. You wouldn't actually consider everybody from the millions of people in one country to act, think, believe like each other person in that particular country? You really wouldn't even slightly consider all the people with Iranian background to be like their current leaders?

And not to comment on this particular story alone, but I tend to take very cautious approach to MEMRI reported articles. There have been numerous critiques towards their policy, about being pro-Israel and portraying Islam on purpose in a most negative light.

I think that is exatly the point I am making; stereotypes and generalisations which are grossly inaccurate permeate the coverage and many people's opinion.

Stereotypes and inaccurate generalisations really are the opinion of a whole lot of people, and media approach. What I was thinking was, not yours too?

Everything is subjective; no matter how hard we try, we can never be truly objective.

Do I claim some sort of special dispensation from this? No, of course not. But I've been around the block a bit more than some others.

To test your caution in this particular case, here's the original MEMRI article, which consists of translated excerpts from a December 28, 2006, interview with Baztab:

In a December 28, 2006 interview with the Iranian website Baztab, which is affiliated with Iranian Expediency Council Secretary Mohsen Rezai, Iranian Presidential Advisor Mohammad Ali Ramin said that Hitler was Jewish, and that Hitler's policies were aimed at bringing about the establishment of a Jewish state. Ramin added that Hitler acted under the influence of his powerful Jewish associates and in cooperation with Britain, since the latter shared his desire to force the Jews out of Europe.

Ramin was recently appointed secretary-general of the new "world foundation for Holocaust Studies" established at the Iranian Holocaust Denial Conference in December.
The following are excerpts from the interview:

And here's the website for Baztab:

The website is in Farsi(?), though, so you may need help finding the original interview transcript and translating it.

What is your point, Philly Ninja? The comment was made on their general policy. Not this interview's authenticy or it's translation.

Yeah I will second that - a good friend of mine was the offical driver for the Iranian weightlifting team for the 2000 Olympics in Sydney. On the rare occasions their handlers where not present. He said these guys were absolute riots. All they wanted to do was find somewhere to drink and chat up Australian girls :)

My point is that whatever their general policy, the authenticity of individual articles can be tested.

I might ask, what is the point of commenting on MEMRI's general policy, if not to caution your reader to test the authenticity of individual articles they produce?
