Someone on this board once cited The Onion as a source. I guess even The Onion is subject to Poe's Law.

I once had someone bring up an Onion article as proof that we were really kicking ass in the war on terror. The Onion article was "80% of Al Qaeda's #2's have been killed."

Funny because, everyone who seemed to die around that time was a #2 man.

The guy who runs The Onion was at a TAM once - TAM 5, I think -, and he said he regularly gets exasperated e-mails along the lines of "I can´t believe you publish such ********! Is this site a parody or something?"

I think it's a silly little weenie thread.

You can make it into a big weenie by arguing that Politico.com is indeed "left wing". That would actually start up an counter argument.
