Think like a Fundy.

From this post on another messageboard I post on:
It is no wonder, therefore, that renowned Jewish archaeologist Nelson Glueck wrote, "It may be stated categorically that no archaeological discovery has ever controverted a Biblical reference." (Glueck, Rivers in the Desert: History of Negev., 31). Likewise, W.F. Albright affirms: "The excessive skepticism shown towards the Bible by important historical schools of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, certain phases of which still appear periodically, has been progressively discredited. Discovery after discovery has established the accuracy of innumerable details, and has brought increased recognition to the value of the Bible as a source of history." (Albright, The Achaeology of Palestine 127-128). Millar Burrows of Yale adds, "The Bible is supported by archaeological evidence again and again. On the whole, there can be no question that the results of excavation have increased the respect of scholars for the Bible as a collection of historical documents." Joseph Free, professor of archaeology and history at Bemidji State College (formerly director of archaeological studies at Wheaton College) states, "In addition to illuminating the Bible, archaeology has confirmed countless passages which have been rejected by critics as unhistorical or contrary to known facts." (Free, Archaeology and Bible History, 1). Not to burst your bubble, but I think I'll trust the words of professionals who have devoted their lives to the study of archaeology over the word of a 16 year-old girl.
So how many points is that?

(Note: I am the 16-year-old girl the author is referring to. If someone could go through my post and make sure I didnt leave anything unanswered, or if I made a mistake in my analysis, I would appreciate it. Much thanks to Triadboy for information and phrasing things much more succinctly than I ever could :) )
