Things you want science to know

What are some things that you would like science to figure out within your lifetime? Aside from the obvious TOE, what else? Any things that bother you, that you'd really like to know? I invite big and small questions alike.
 
Life beyond Earth is a big one for me. If we found life on say, Europa I'd be thrilled.

Human cloning.

I'm going to need some spare parts in a few years.
 
A way to harness nuclear fusion for energy. Perhaps you are not talking about applied science though...
 
Things like the origin and fate of the universe come to mind.

But I'd settle for a grand unified theory. :)

Same for me. Although the last I heard, Saturn's Titan seemed a more likely candidate. Life on either would be incredible.
 
I remember when some scientists used Jupiter as a gravitational lens in order to measure the speed of gravity. The measurement was not precise enough to be meaningful. I'd like a really accurate measurement of said speed, but only if it was slightly faster than the speed light. But only because that would really $%#& everything up.

Of course, we don't think we'll ever measure something going faster than light, but that is why I want it to happen so much.

Figure out how to colonize another star system. This one won't be around forever, and despite what I've been told - we won't just be handed another planet when this one gets all filled up with silly humans no matter how some may strive to "live right".
 
Yeah, I want to know if we will ever be able to go faster than the speed of light.
 
I'd like to see affordable human space travel within my lifetime.
To be realistic, I'd settle for just a few minutes of sub orbital zero g time. Luckily I'm pretty young and guys like Burt Rutan/Richard Branson are working hard on it, so there’s a fairly good chance I could see this dream come true. I’m going to check out this pale blue dot of ours from a new perspective, won’t you join me?

I suspect humans will have killed themselves off long before our sun dies out.
 
Room temperature (and a bit warmer) superconductors. Lots of cool science fiction stuff can be developed once we have those.
