Interesting idea. Here's a graphic recently posted by Lyte Trip:

The camera angle on the Pentagon footage appears to be approximately due South, which would make the position of the sun approx. SE and fairly low in the sky. If we can determine the plane's height along various points and the true angle of the sun in the sky, we can plot the path of the shadow. But based on the rough estimates we have, it could quite plausibly look something like this:

I just couldn't resist, it was too fun of a math problem.

My initial stab at it finds that for a plane descending along the 60-degree course to leave a shadow along the 80-degree course, given that position of the sun, it'd need to be descending at an angle of about 30-degrees. That's pretty extreme and unlikely.

Maybe I made a mistake though. The trigonometry is fairly convoluted so a mistake is possible. Make sure you remember the law of sines :)

The site came down for various reasons.

It is also been used by JDX for example as a point of criticism.

The fact is I am rethinking some things and deciding what I even want my role in this whole matter to be. The futility of doing research that I perceive to be based on physical evidence and getting called a kook in one camp and a government agent in the other is becoming obvious to me.

Bottom line - after reflecting on the issue of my site - whether it came from here and/or JDX it is inconsistent of me to be critically reviewing the work of others when my own is out of date.

As for the apparent inconsistency of my relations with JREF, I see no problem. I have been candid here as have they. Our differences are well known. I also distinguish between those who instigate maliciously and those who truly communicate.

The fact that we can share in common the belief that a 757 hit the Pentagon does not mean we will ever agree on the big picture. I have learned tons here and support good research no matter who it comes from.

I believe that is part of what happened.

You can see the shadow darken the whole store in the Citgo video as well as a reflection on the south wall of the Citgo.

As I said before Russell, just because we are on opposite sides of the fence wrt the blame for 9/11, does not mean that as those who believe in evidence, we cannot share and learn from one another. What you chose to believe is your own. You know full well if you bring in articles they will be critiqued for validity. You know if you bring in hearsay and opinion it will be given little to no weight, unless from those who are deemed "experts". You know this, and in my encounters with you you have brought very little if any of the fictiuous type of information I have just mentioned.

This guy Aphelion, or what ever his name is, seems to have some resentment toward you.

As for your alleged teachings on how to deal with JREFers, it probably isnt a bad idea. Most of the truthers need alot of guidance on how to carry on a proper debate. I can't see anything but positivity coming from you teaching them how to "deal" with us.

You do know that the JR in JREF stands for James Randi, right?

If anyone is a "leader" it's Randi, but it doesn't mean we follow him unquestioningly. He, if you read the SWIFT, invites criticism.

For starters, I havent read these tactics, but I will. Perhaps we do use them. Perhaps they are false. As for a leader, we do not have one persay. We have those with more comprehensive knowledge on the subjects. Does that qualify them as a leader. R. Mackey, Gumboot, Gravy, Ref, many others who I am neglecting, through ignorance, to mention...seems like we have many leaders then. Perhaps if Russell said as much, he was referring to Gravy. Gravy aka Mark Roberts has sutdied many aspects of the 9/11 attacks extremely thoroughly. He is also well spoken. If these two things make him a leader, then I guess he is one of many such people here.

Why don't we look at them one by one shall we...


1. Hear no evil. If it wasnt reported it didnt happen.

Well if a tree falls in the forest, and nobody hears it, I still believe if fell, so I am not guilty of #1.

2. Become incredulous and indignant. Avoid discussing key issues and instead focus on side issues which can be used to show the topic as being critical of some otherwise sacrosanct group or theme. This is also known as the "How dare you!" gambit.

Ok, on some occasions I use this, as do almost every TRUTHER I run across. Why don't we take a poll of the number of times a truther has come over here and accuse us of pissing on graves because we disagree with the views of the Jersey Girls...HOW DARE WE!!!!

3. Create Rumor Mongers (ie call evidence useless rumors if it comes from a less than impecable resource).

Well I have no issue with arguing this way. Part of what I use to determine the validity, or LIKELY validity of a piece of evidence, is related to the RELIABILITY of the source. Sue me for it.

I will go on, should I feel compelled to do so, but I am sure in the end these tactics are either vague, and we are all guilty of them, or they are strawman arguments in and of themselves.

Yes, that is them. It's amazing how closely truthers follow many of them.

That list is nothing other then an "applied fallacies" guide. But it's fallacies dumbed down enough for truthers get get it, so they try to use it against us.

The only problem is they are almost always guilty far more often then we are and they really hate it when you start pasting it back at them. There's a few truthers who will try to use that thing as a copy/paste weapon to discredit, but you can always isolate their fallacies and respond to every one of their posts in kind.
