The Young'uns at TAM 6

I am of drinking age, and yet I do not drink alcohol. If I can enjoy myself at Forum parties, why can't a young'un? It's not like there's any orgies going on*, either.

(* not counting that particular room no one was supposed to talk about.)

Oh my FSM, kids still do this? This was around years ago, I tried it but couldn't get it.

My daughter and niece do.

Yeah, if there's some sort of Guitar Hero/any other game scenario, then I'm coming to hang out with the youngsters :D

I stink at "Simon" games; give me a light gun and a screen full of ravenous undead and I'm happy.

DDR is West Germany, isn't it? Why Kitten would force her mother to play West Germany is beyond me...
If we're playing that then I call Singapore.

The DDR was East Germany - Deutsche Demokratische Republik. West Germany was the Bundesrepublik Deutschland.

I wouldn't want to play East Germany either.

What is DDR?

My kids are into something called Arkum Horror, it involves getting rid of monsters in a 1920 town, a board game that takes tons of room to play.

I think it is very important that these kids form a social network, they are the next generation and need support within their own age. We must always look out for the younger generations, keep them interested show them how important they are. They are just beginning to vote after all.

I remember standing at the back of a CSICOP event and looking at a sea of gray hair and thinking that this isn't a good thing.

Susan

Its actually Arkham Horror. Based of H.P. Lovecraft's Call of Cthulhu. Its an awesome game, if there is enough room to play it...and enough time. It takes anywhere between 2 and 4 hours to play.

Keep in mind if you want to play anything loud that you are in a hotel room? Also, I will be bringing my camera and any activity might me be displayed on YouTube the next day. My kids say Guitar Hero is a blast but only for 4 people. What about everyone else?

Susan

Sorry, but DDR is totally L-A-M-E. Anyone with half a pair is into DDI:

(As with so many things, the video doesn't really do it justice... it's quite a sight in person.)

That DDI looks kinda fun, but can that happen in a hotel room?

I have been corrected, Gutiar Hero is for 2 people, Rock Band is for 4 people. That is the one that is totally cool.

I say, have a Monopoly series. I always wanted to set up a game in an elevator and play for hours.

Everyone else just watches. :P

Excuse me!

If the adults don't get a chance to act stupid then what is this world coming to?

You gotta have something better planed than that?

Susan

I'll possibly have the youngest kid in attendance, he'll be 14. Guitar Hero works well for him, as I don't THINK he's much into drinking yet.

Ok, not the strip clubs so much as the naked dancing lady shows that there are billboards for all over Las Vegas.

Hrm...that's essentially a strip club with no touching I guess.

Oh and don't forget all those hooker postcards and ads everywhere. Those are fun to collect and trade.

Travis is planning on attending, at this point. He will be 20 by then, and so will need people who can sneak drinks to him like on the Cruise and TAM 5.5 hang with him when he gets tired of 'adults'.

Well, speaking as a charter member of the LBBL (Little Brothers' Benevolence League), I'm pretty sure I can help him get drunk hang out with people.

Actually, he's a the age where the strip clubs are starting to look interesting to him.

And, as I'm also a charter member of the VDBUS (Vaguely Depraved Bachelor Uncles' Society), I should be able to cover this as well. We'll need a fake mustache, however.
