The Vatican praises "The Simpsons"

I think they also gave some praise to the beatles last year.

Can't really tell from the link if this is what the church actually said or if it's something the Italian news article said (but the church didn't say):
Misnaming God actually is just a momentary lapse on Homer’s part, the paper said, “because in reality the two know each other quite well.”

If the church said it, what does it mean that god knows a fictional character quite well?

lets be honest here, the Vatican only likes the Simpsons because Flanders is in it
:D
Okely-dokely-doo!

The Catholic League doesn't seem to care for the Simpsons.

“THE SIMPSONS” CROSSES THE LINE

Marge Simpson: Let us in. We have the chosen one.

Soldier: Welcome, son. To survive, all we must do is eat your flesh.

Marge Simpson: Hold it right there, bub. What kind of civilized people eat the body and blood of their saviour?

Rev. Lovejoy: [Groans nervously]

Makes me giggle to think of the cardinals all huddled around their sets watching Simpsons. An occasional hallelujah erupts.
I wonder if there is popcorn scented incense...

I always thought Frylock in Aqua Teen Hunger Force seemed a little Catholic Cardinal looking. It would rock my world to find out that the nefarious Vatican Cardinals were secretly behind Adult Swim.

Apparently his holiness darth ratzinger hasn't yet asked google for the rule 34 on the simpsons. He'll never be the same afterwards...

Typical of the Catholic church to accept something long after everyone else has moved on. Now, if someone told me the Vatican was praising Family Guy, I might be interested.
