The Vast Left Wing Conspiracy's Artificial Global Warming Hoax

I was trying to give a simplifed answer. :)

If anybody wonders why the ability to SCRAM quickly and have backup SCRAM methods is important, see; SL-1WP
Yeah, they made us watch a movie about that in nuke school in the Navy. Remember being horrified at hearing about the one guy skewered to the ceiling by an ejected control rod.
Hence, the design criteria that a Navy reactor can't go super-critical with a control rod completely removed, if you could figure out a way to do it.

The thing about nuclear power, in the best sense, is that it releases little pollution and that it takes up little space.

While I would love for something like solar power plants and wind farms to be the norm, the problem is that both would involve cultivating HUGE plots of land in order to make either viable.

For the long term, an innovative nuclear power plant would be close to ideal. They're efficient, take up small amounts of space, and with the right design, will hardly go critical.

Pebble-bed reactors, for example, would be a great design to research, but with the stigma on nuclear reactors, no one wants to do it.

Hell, it's like people forget how common nuclear reactors are. They power some of our nation's ships, our submarines, it powered our LEMs, and more.

The only problem I have with nuclear power is weapons. And if we move all our power to nuclear we will absolutely find it desirable to burn all those weapons triggers, and I hope that gets rid of most of them for all time.
