The Truth about RFK Jr

This is sooo common among people who have no idea how to read a Paper.
Fortunately, Trisha Greenhalh has written a very good book called ' How to read a Paper - the basics of evidence based medicine'. Available at all good bookshops.
There's a few here who could use it. I doubt they even know in which order to read the sections.

edit: JFK Jr could do with a copy too.

So yeah. RFK Jr. is a raging hypocrite, or a raging fool. Or both.

There's a wonderful non-aptronym in that article:
“We can do better and there are lots of meal programs that do better, and they don’t have any of those kinds of ingredients in there,” said Marion Nestle, emerita professor of nutrition, food studies and public health at New York University, told the Guardian.
Nestle, of course, being one of the world's largest and most evil purveyors of ultraprocessed foods.

In 2023 the NIH reported, "Immunotherapy pioneer Steven A. Rosenberg, M.D., Ph.D., has been awarded the National Medal of Technology and Innovation by President Biden. It is the nation's highest honor for technological achievement. Dr. Rosenberg is chief of the Surgery Branch at the Center for Cancer Research at the National Cancer Institute, part of the National Institutes of Health."

In June of 2025 Jonathan Howard discussed Dr. Rosenberg's problems stemming from staff cutbacks at NIH, quoting a story that read in part, "Two highly skilled technicians who prepared cells for treatments were fired in the probationary purge in February, according to Steven Rosenberg, an NIH immunotherapy pioneer who leads multiple trials. He declined to say how many patients were affected, but his team now treats one patient per week, down from two or three before the cuts." Dr. Bhattacharya responded, "I find it deeply disappointing of Dr. Rosenberg to claim staffing issues are delaying his research, especially in light of the funding alternatives that were presented to him, which he has been slow in pursuing." Dr. Howard wrote, 'It was Dr. Rosenberg’s fault that he was having trouble rehiring a scientist he never wanted to fire in the first place."

At Inside Medicine Dr. Jeremy Faust wrote, "Rather than granting approval for all children starting at 6 months of age, the FDA limited its approval of Moderna’s pediatric Covid-19 vaccine to children known to have at least one high-risk underlying medical condition. That excludes the 54% of children ages 6-23 months who were hospitalized for Covid-19 in the last year despite having no known underlying medical conditions. Worse, the decision means that vaccines will be denied to children with risks yet to be identified—that is, dangerously untreated diseases...FDA leadership wants to believe Covid-19 does not pose a risk to healthy children. As we now know, that’s untrue...Viral infections that are more serious than would have been normally anticipated are frequently howdoctors uncover serious medical problems like diabetes or serious heart conditions."

The article from Just The News quoted Alex Berenson, who was labeled The Pandemic's Wrongest Man in one article. This raises questions.

Questionable Reasoning: Conspiracy Theories, Propaganda, Numerous Failed Fact Checks

Linky.

Attorney General Bondi dropped the charges against a physician who gave saline shots to minors in place of Covid-19 vaccines, among other allegations. RFK Jr praised the Utah physician as a healer last April on X. Bondi’s decision is open to question.

So personal choice, unless you choose the evidence based option, in which case it's perfectly fine for a physician to lie to you, and inject you with something else of their choice? Yeah, seems legit.

I weep for us - for the US to begin with, but also for the rest of us, since all this gives all the medical conspiracy theorists everywhere a boost - we have the accumulated knowledge of centuries to build on, and we still fall for the dulcet tones “don't listen to the scientist, just trust your own instincts (after you've paid me for telling you what your own instincts say)” of grifters and scammers and quacks.

Is there a source, or a name for the physician so I can search? In many jurisdictions this would result in the person losing their licence to practice. Injecting a child without consent (the parents didn't consent to saline injections I assume) would appear to be a serious crime, but perhaps it will be prosecuted at state level?

You really can’t make this stuff up. Every day sees an example of incompetence and corruption presided over by RFK jr. Scum.

TheHill reported, "Michael Kirk Moore Jr. and three of his associates were indicted by a federal grand jury in January 2023 and accused of discarding more than $28,000 worth of government-provided COVID-19 vaccines and of distributing nearly two thousand fraudulent COVID-19 vaccination cards in exchange for cash or required “donations.”The indictment also alleged that Moore and his associates administered saline shots to children, at the request of the parents, so the children would think they were receiving the COVID-19 vaccine." Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene and Senator Mike Lee pushed for charges to be dropped against the Utah-based plastic surgeon. NBCNews reported, "Health Secretary Robert Kennedy Jr., a leading anti-vaccine activist before becoming the nation's top health official, posted his support for Moore in April, saying on X that Moore "deserves a medal for his courage and his commitment to healing!"" In 2018 a probation was lifted regarding his practice, but the details are scarce.

Dr. William Miller wrote, "If the allegations are true, this would be a serious breach of professional ethics which could cost Moore his medical license. A quarry of Dr. Moore’s medical license on the Utah medical board’s website indicates that his license is currently “active”. However, it also reports that his license was stipulated, meaning that he received a sanction for wrongdoing or unprofessional conduct on August 31, 2016, after he pleaded guilty in a District Court to two counts of submitting false or fraudulent insurance claims. The stipulation against his license was lifted 18 months later. Such stipulations usually are for a limited period, generally lasting 1 to 3 years...However, one thing that does matter is that healthcare professionals entrusted by society to uphold high standards of ethics should not behave lawlessly and participate in illegal schemes like these, regardless of their personal opinions regarding vaccines."

At SBM Jonathan Howard quoted an article that read in part, "Verdun, and her deputy, Rachael Anatol, were placed on administrative leave by Prasad, and escorted out of FDA headquarters on Wednesday, STAT reported exclusively. Verdun told staff she was not given an explanation for the firing. She declined to comment for this story." Nicole Verdun was the top gene therapy official until this June.
Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology News reported, "Center directors deserve to be supported by managers who are aligned with aggressive goals to expeditiously advance therapeutics for rare diseases using the gold standard of science,” HHS told STAT News, which reported that [Nicole] Verdun had been escorted out of the FDA’s offices...According to the report, Prasad “was skeptical about the treatment,” though “long-simmering tensions over Verdun’s management style” may have also explained the action, which the report attributed to other unnamed sources."

The Guardian reported, "Messenger RNA, or mRNA, vaccines have shown promise in treating and preventing cancers that have often been difficult to address, such as pancreatic cancer, brain tumors and others. But groundbreaking research could stall as federal and state officials target mRNA shots, including ending federal funding for bird flu mRNA vaccines, restricting who may receive existing mRNA vaccines and, in some places, proposing laws against the vaccines...At least 16 grants involving the word “mRNA” have been terminated or frozen, according to the crowdsourced project Grant Watch, and scientists have been told to remove mentions of mRNA vaccines from their research applications, KFF Health News reported in March."

Here's the BBC story.

The doctors name is reported to be Dr Michael Kirk Moore Jr.

Edited to add...

It is reported that the injections were given with the parents' consent so they could obtain false vaccination certificates.

The false vaccination certificates were given so that these children could pose a danger to other children who didn’t have a vaccination, or were immunodeficient. I suppose he deserves a medal. What a hero :sarcasm:

See comment #1991 and this 2023 link. ""By allegedly falsifying vaccine cards and administering saline shots to children instead of COVID-19 vaccines, not only did this provider endanger the health and well-being of a vulnerable population, but also undermined public trust and the integrity of federal health care programs,” said Curt L. Muller, Special Agent in Charge with the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of the Inspector General. "HHS-OIG remains committed to working with our law enforcement partners to hold accountable bad actors who attempt to illegally profit from the pandemic.”" The writer at this link continued, "The Office of Inspector General, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS-OIG), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are investigating the case."

At SBM Jonathan Howard wrote, "Pundits wrote articles unoriginal, interchangeable articles such as How Public Health Discredited Itself and How The Coronavirus Sparked An Epidemic Of Intellectual Malpractice, which absolved SAR-CoV-2 of all responsibility and displaced its harms on to the people who had to handle it. According to the opinion class, these workers weren’t well-intentioned people who made some mistakes as a new, mutating virus swamped their hospitals and morgues. Rather, they were “ambitious social engineers” who used to pandemic to gain “prestige, power, and funding.”"

Thanks.
I am horrified a fellow physician could do this.

Well these are articles devoid of fact and full of opinion.

The one group you never hear critical of the actions taken are respiratory (pulmonology) specialists. Who even more than ID specialists are familiar with respiratory infections and their consequences.
