The Truth about RFK Jr

I found an article on ten types of Covid-19 misinformation in The New York Post authored by Marty Makary: "Misinformation #1: Natural immunity offers little protection compared to vaccinated immunity". He did not cite any one person as saying this. To the best of my understanding so called natural immunity was criticized not for the reason he provided but rather because if you caught covid-19 while unvaccinated, there was a chance that you would die, and that the odds were quite a bit less if you were vaccinated. He concluded his article by stating, "A mea culpa by those who led us astray would be a first step to rebuilding trust." The includes an almost identical phrase (rebuilding trust) when compared with the passage I quoted from SBM. Hmmm...His NYP article does not discuss his prediction about achieving herd immunity. SBM has some good questions that could have been asked.
EDT
"Misinformation #4: Myocarditis from the vaccine is less common than from the infection". This SBM article takes issue with such claims: "Beyond this, even if Dr. Hviid’s study somehow showed that vaccine-myocarditis was more common than COVID-myocarditis, that is not the proper comparison. The proper comparison is which can do more harm overall, the vaccine or the virus."

HHS Plans to Cut the National Suicide Hotline’s Program for LGBTQ Youth

The federal government plans to eliminate services for LGBTQ youth who call 988, the national suicide and crisis hotline, according to a Health and Human Services budget draft leaked last week. Pure evil.

"HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is considering removing the COVID-19 vaccine from CDC's schedule of recommended immunizations for children, according to two people familiar with the situation. The move, reported by Politico, would not bar children from receiving the shot but could influence U.S. vaccination procedures. Pediatricians rely on the CDC immunization schedule to determine which vaccines to give children and when to administer them. Insurers use the schedule to help decide which vaccines to cover." MedPageToday

"A bill introduced by Republicans in the Minnesota state legislature calls mRNA vaccines "weapons of mass destruction" and if passed would carry punishment of up to 20 years in prison for possessing or administering them. (News From The States)" MedPageToday

This bill will not pass, but its existence is...thought-provoking. Here is a link to mRNA vaccines from 2021.

I found two quotes in the Marty Makary New York Post article to which I linked yesterday. "Tens of thousands of children likely got myocarditis, mostly subclinical, from a COVID vaccine they did not need because they were entirely healthy or because they already had COVID." and "In my opinion, the data are crystal clear that young people should not get the bivalent vaccine. It would have also spared many children myocarditis." If today's news report is correct, that RFK Jr is considering removing vaccines for Covid-19 from those recommended for children (as indicated in comment #1187), I doubt that Dr. Makary would oppose the idea.

I am going to create a fuss by noting that the batcrap crazy ideas RFK have are no monopoly of the right. Plenty of people who probably thinks of themselves on the left also subscribe to these crazy ideas. Very common among the counter culture.

A little over a month ago medicinal chemist Derek Lowe wrote about the attack on mRNA vaccines. "And they're not all Trump voters, either, thanks to the horseshoe effect that brings the ultra-crunchy Left around to meet the conspiratorial Right on these topics. I live in an area that's has a bizarrely high percentage of people with postgraduate degrees of all sorts, and the local social media had people on it who were just Soooo Happy when RFK, Jr. was confirmed as head of HHS. Perhaps it was one of those people who posted the other day wondering if anyone knew where they could get food and ingredients without mRNA in it. And God only knows what Kennedy himself believes about the stuff. But whatever it is it's likely to be horribly mistaken, because his views on traditional vaccines are already a soufflé of ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊, so I'm sure that this newer technology really gives him some scope for his talents."

Again, when is the medical community going to unite and expose this crazy mother ◊◊◊◊◊◊ for what he is, a crazy mother ◊◊◊◊◊◊? JFKC, I just saw his comments from a week back about autism being caused by "environmental toxins."

He attributed the rise in autism rates to environmental toxins and said the HHS would commission studies in the next two to three weeks to find the toxin at large. “This is coming from an environmental toxin, and somebody made a profit by putting that environmental toxin into our air, our water, our medicines, our food,” RFK Jr. stated.

RFK Jr. said the studies would be supported by federal grant funding to university researchers. “People will know they can research and follow the science no matter what it says, without any
kind of fear that can be censored and they're going to be gaslighted that they're going to be silenced, they're going to be defunded, de-licensed, and we're going to give them permission to do this research," he told reporters Wednesday.

What this crazy mother ◊◊◊◊◊◊ means by gaslighting is actual science, versus whatever the ◊◊◊◊ he's gonna get up to.

This is well-known. Besides, RFK was himself a Democrat.

It’s also irrelevant. It’s not left-wing hippies in charge of healthcare in the US is it? They are not the ones in power.

So if the Trump administration bans vaccines because it has decided they cause autism, then constantly harping on about lefties also being wacky would be worse than pointless.

oh what a surprise you want to talk about how bad the left is too

so who’s the equivalent of rfk jr on the left and what is their position in government?
It’s not long since Fauci was positioned by the kook/hate squad as a conspiracist and shill.

Yes I know it’s ludicrous to have Science seen as a leftist plot but we’re not exactly talking about geniuses here.

i mean, if the answer is the left's just as bad because of fauci i think that speaks for itself.

there's this weird compulsion to constantly remind everyone that the left is just as bad no matter what that i find baffling. take a look around you, it was not the left you needed to worry about and you can give that a break for a while.

I agree the right is a much greater thereat then the left. But still, i think it is wise to keep a eye on all extremists.

I am convinced that the power of the Religious Right has a lot to do with the GOP turning on science. The fundies have always hated science since it disagrees with a lot of the early sections of the Bible.

I vote yes to keeping an eye on all non-rational actors, if for no other reason than that individuals sometimes switch sides, as the attacker of Paul Pelosi, David DePape, did. Derek Lowe's comments, which I quoted earlier today, are also worth noting.
