Actually there is credible evidence that Covid vaccines cause deaths* However on a population basis fewer people die and more are healthy if the population is vaccinated. On an individual basis an individual of any age is more likely to die or suffer significant health problems if not vaccinated and develop Covid than if vaccinated. On an individual basis a vaccinated individual of any age is more likely to die or suffer significant health problems if they develop Covid than just from the vaccine alone.

There is no doubt that if Covid did not exist then vaccinating against Covid would have a negative health impact.

Contrary to what the anti-vaccination propagandists say, there have been extensive follow up studies involving 100,000s of people who have been vaccinated to detect the very low risk of direct harm from the vaccine. One of the greatest benefits is the reduction in 'long covid' which disproportionately effects younger people and children, so contrary to what many anti-vaccination propagandists say there is a significant health benefit (although mortality rate is low in children, there is still some mortality benefit) from vaccinating children.

*Particularly the AZ adenovirus vector vaccine caused a small number of deaths from cerebral thrombosis in young adults.

It’s hard to get too excited about RFK Jr’s “turnaround”. It’s cynical and half-hearted, clearly motivated by optics. Nothing short of a full-throated endorsement of vaccines and a campaign to educate the areas where the outbreak occurred about the safety and efficacy of vaccines will suffice.

The anti-vaxxerism that he endorses and profits from got that kid killed and hospitalized many more. One Fox op-ed that frames vaccination as a personal choice doesn’t wash the blood off his hands.

His Anti Vaxism and other kooky ideas far outweigh his valid points about nutrition, diet, etc.
 
I wonder if he did not get some pushback from some Senate members. They made clear although they would bote to confirm him, they would have their eyes on him.

Most of his points about nutrition are also way off.

About the only thing he gets right is noticing what you have to utterly blind to miss which is that many Americans are obese, but even then he pours scorn on things that are proven to work, such as semaglutide, and instead focuses on idiotic campaigns against seed oils, etc...

His idiot fans literally think that MacDonalds would be much healthier if they cooked the French fries in beef tallow instead of seed oils.

So much this. I have been saying this for a long time, back when that Jamie guy from England was going on and on about eating fresh veggies, etc. I said, the problem is not that people aren't eating fresh vegetables, it's that they are eating junk food instead.

Sure, there is a benefit of having fresh peas grown locally over canned peas, but the marginal difference there is tiny compared to a serving of canned peas vs a bag of Doritos.

Let's start there.

But no, let's have low fat Doritos.
