The Truth about RFK Jr

Derek Lowe, the host of In the Pipeline, wrote, "I have written a number of times about what’s happening to federal funding of scientific research in the US, but I have some updates, and they are grim...Occasionally someone says something like "Well, you work in industry, why should you care?" And my response is that every single person working in industrial science and engineering came up through academic scientific training, and that the US has been responsible for a huge amount of the basic research that we've been building the whole scientific enterprise on. We're now engaged in tearing all of that down, and it's a crime against this nation, against its people, and against the rest of the human race - an unforgivable one."
 
CNN reported that, "U.S. health secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is pursuing federal government access to most Americans’ medical records, in a quest to research a link between vaccines and autism — a connection the medical establishment studied for decades and flatly rejects. The Department of Health and Human Services is seeking data from little-known state systems that allow hospitals and clinics to exchange detailed, identifiable patient information, KFF Health News has learned."

CNN Continued: "Last June, [Craig] Behm and leaders of other state exchanges met with Kennedy’s top advisers to discuss sharing more medical data with federal agencies. The state organizations followed up with a pitch in October for a new surveillance system that would give the federal health department “real-time, 24-hour data feeds on opioid and chronic disease trends” within a year, according to a presentation reviewed by KFF Health News. Under the proposal, HHS would get data from 90% of the population’s medical records by 2028."
 
MedPage Today quoted Senator Bill Cassidy: "A terrible outcome from RFK and others promoting vaccine skepticism," Cassidy said Thursday in a social media post containing a link to a New York Times story that outlined physician concerns about a resurgence in vaccine-preventable diseases in the wake of declining childhood vaccination rates.

"The concern among doctors comes on the heels of a resurgence of measles nationwide, fueled by distrust in vaccines that grew during the COVID-19 pandemic, and that Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and President Trump have amplified," the article noted. "Public health experts have long seen measles as a harbinger: Because it is so exceptionally contagious, it can be the first disease to spike as vaccination rates broadly decline, and a sign of more to come."

MAGA senator shrugs off Ebola risk in anti vaccine rant: 'It generally snuffs itself out'

Wisconsin Republican Sen. Ron Johnson is dismissing the need for Ebola vaccines — even as public health officials scramble to contain a real Ebola outbreak ahead of the FIFA World Cup being held across the United States, Canada and Mexico this summer.

In an interview with LindellTV's Cara Castronuova, Johnson argued that federal health agencies are laying the groundwork for another mass vaccination campaign — this time targeting diseases like Hantavirus and Ebola.

"They're setting us up for it," Johnson said. "Hantavirus. Ebola."

But when it came to Ebola specifically, Johnson downplayed the threat — and the need for vaccines.

"Ebola is something that is just so aggressive, it generally snuffs itself out," he said. "If you just handle basic procedures — quarantines, that kind of stuff — you can snuff out an Ebola deal."

The incident took place Friday morning at a meeting of the American Diabetes Association in New Orleans, shortly before Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, director of the National Institutes of Health, was scheduled to speak. An organizer announced just before Dr. Bhattacharya’s session that he would no longer be speaking; a senior adviser at the N.I.H. took his place.

This makes sense: of course the ADA spontaneously and without coercion opted to forcibly remove from their annual meeting the editor-in-chief of their own flagship journal for sharing a paper they themselves published in that same journal.

I sort of shrug off ebola as well. It is not an air borne virus. Polio is bad as well, but thhat again needs hand to hand contact. It is one of the few viruses surviving in the gut. Feces to hand to the the next kid. That and in bacteria cholera but cholera you have to get from water or other things you consume.

It comes from Andrew Huberman, whose Stanford credentials and “protocol” framing lend scientific gloss to a podcast that, in his episode on colds and flu, told listeners he does not get the flu vaccine. It comes from a constellation of carnivore-diet evangelists, peptide stackers, biohackers, and testosterone optimizers whose commercial model depends on selling the premise that the right combination of supplements, sleep protocols, sauna sessions, and cold exposure can render external medical interventions unnecessary or even suspect.

"And increasingly, it comes from the federal government. In February, RFK Jr. posted a 90-second workout video with Kid Rock, the two of them shirtless on exercise bikes, doing push-ups in a sauna, plunging into cold pools, playing pickleball, and toasting glasses of whole milk under the caption GET ACTIVE + EAT REAL FOOD. The video is bro-coded to a degree that would be funny if the man producing it did not also run the federal apparatus responsible for the country’s vaccine policy. Conspicuously absent from his prescription for American health: any mention of vaccines."

Polio Transmission​

  • Humans are the only known reservoir for poliovirus.
  • Poliovirus can be excreted by nasopharyngeal secretions for about one week and in stool for three to six weeks after infection, even from people who do not develop symptoms. Maximum excretion of the virus is seen in two to three days prior and one week after appearance of symptoms.
  • Poliovirus transmission occurs from person-to-person by oral contact with secretions (oro-oral) or faecal material (faecal-oral) from an infected person. Faecal-oral transmission is more common in areas with poor access to water and sanitation.
  • The incubation period for paralytic cases is approximately 7−14 days (range 3–35 days).
  • In rare cases immunodeficient patients can become asymptomatic chronic carriers of WPV and VDPV.
  • Poliovirus can survive at room temperature for a few weeks. Soil, sewage and infected water have been shown to harbour the virus.
  • All unimmunised persons are susceptible to the infection. Infants in the first six months may have some protection from passively transferred maternal immunity. Children under five years are at highest risk of contracting the infection.
  • Poliovirus is highly infectious, with sero-conversion rates of 90–100% among household contacts.
  • The following factors have been identified as contributing to continued polio transmission: high population density; poor health service infrastructure; poor sanitation; high incidence of diarrhoeal diseases; and low oral polio vaccine coverage.

Has RFK Jr also targeted Polio vaccination? That could be interesting. I know that many do not think polio myelitis is much of a problem because nobody has it these days, and in case it is an infant's disease.

But the reason adults don't get paralytic polio is that they are either vaccinated, or they have had prior exposure to the polio virus. Most infections are asymptomatic. But if an entire population has not been vaccinated, it is a disease for adults too, not just infants. This happened for Albania when Hoxha died, and Albania was opened up: The Albanian population had been isolated from the rest of the world, and was not adequately vaccinated, so the virus ran wild!
This could be the future of the U.S. if vaccination against polio is scrapped.

If I remember correctly, he once opined that the vaccine causes more problems than the disease, saying it may have caused more deaths than it prevented. Which of course is bull ◊◊◊◊. He may have backtracked but we also know that he says anything that comes into his head.
