Trump Knew for Weeks That Rudy’s Hit on Hunter Biden Was Coming
The president cheered as his personal lawyer prepared a “sex and drugs” sliming of the Democratic nominee’s son.

Goddamn you wouldn't accept that level of sloppy, non-existent chain of custody for a video game save file you downloaded off of Limewire.

I guess there are a number of possible explanations for this, including:

  • It's an exercise in martyrdom. They want to be charged so that they can scream that Californiastan is denying them their democratic rights
  • That this is a stunt, that the ballots will be discarded somewhere, found and the whole exercise used as a means to promote the idea that the Democrats are engaging in widespread voter fraud :tinfoil

I'd say it's close to a 50/50 mix of these two. If they got caught, as they did, they whine about their votes being suppressed, calling the legitimacy of the California vote into question. If they'd managed to avoid being caught, they'd likely dump and then "find" a bunch of Republican votes to again call the vote into question.

It's significant that this seems to only be happening in California. They know there's essentially zero chance they'll win California, so sacrificing a few votes won't really cost them too much. But the value of calling the election into question is enormous.

"The Dems are so corrupt, they even cheated in California! Imagine what they got away with in Georgia and Iowa! These results must be overturned to Protect Freedom(TM)!"

Trump on Fox

Trump tells Stuart Varney that he won't call up Pelosi and negotiate a stimulus bill because she has "a lot of mental problems"

"If you take New York out, we have [coronavirus] numbers that nobody can even can compete with it. New York and a couple of places."

V- Under what circumstances would you concede the election?
T- "All I want is a fair election"
V- So it's your judgment as to whether it's fair?
T- "Stuart -- they always talk about the friendly transition. They spied on my campaign."

V- There's a Wall Street Journal poll that puts Biden up 11 points on you
T- "Well, the polls were wrong last time ... we're doing great"

"I was doing well, and then one day I got a reading -- a positive reading. I mean, positive in a negative sense, right? Sounds sort of strange, but positive in a negative sense, and I had it"

V- A lot of people are criticizing you for these rallies. Huge crowds ... pretty close together, not wearing masks. They're calling you a spreader of the virus.

T- "Well Joe, ah... doesn't have any rallies 'cause nobody shows up ... But what I do is, outside is a big thing."

V- Can you tell us which taxes you would get if you get a second term?

T- "Middle-income, income tax. We're talking about income taxes."

V- Can you be sure that the Hunter Biden emails story isn't a set up?

T- "Oh, I don't know what 'set up' is."

"He is shot, he's mentally shot. In fact, he's not calling the shots"

"You have to be rude, the guys a liar and he's a corrupt politician. Joe Biden is a totally corrupt politician. All you have to do is look at the sons server. I can't believe they found his laptop, it's incredible"

To poke another thing - if you happen to live in California, be warned.

California Republican Party says it won't take down illegal 'ballot boxes' despite state orders

Really short version? The California GOP is putting up a bunch of very insecure boxes claiming to be ballot boxes managed by unidentified GOP members.

Also of particular note -

How is that not illegal ? And one of the parties is doing that ? That is some 3rd world stuff. Oh it's America .. I forgot ..

It is illegal.

But as usual in the US, it takes a lawsuit to stop it, not a lawsuit to get permission for it.

More money for lawyers this way.

It's very illegal but we don't yet have a way around the GOP's "Everything is legal until somebody stops me and/or I actually face any real consequences for doing it" technique.

Then what the heck is going on in these Republican strategy meetings? It seems to me that if someOne suggested framing a Democratic senator for murder, the chairman1 would actually pause before saying no. And not a single person in the room would say, “GTFO you psycho.”

....
(1) on the first draft, I wrote chairperson. Then i realized how absurd it was to imagine that the Republicans might have a woman in charge of a dirty tricks campaign.

You are being too generous.
“Everything I do is legal even if someone stops me or if I face real consequences. Even if you throw me in jail and show me the law in the US Code, I’ll still claim it was legal and I’ll file lawsuits until the president pardons me.”

What makes you think a lawsuit will stop it?
(CNN)The California Republican Party said Wednesday it will not comply with the state's cease-and-desist order over unofficial ballot drop boxes placed in at least four counties, escalating a brewing political showdown ahead of the November election.

Screw that, it doesn't take a "lawsuit" to enforce a law. Send in the cops to remove the boxes from every location you know about, and arrest everyone who is even remotely related to placing them there, and charge them with a crime.

And then hold them without bail, since the California GOP's attitude makes it clear that they are almost certainly going to re-offend if allowed out on bail. Let the ************* sit in jail for six months while their case drags through the courts.

Wash, rinse, repeat for every new Republican ************ who tries to keep this **** going.

You're still applying the Principle of Charity to these guys. That ship has sailed. It's clear that large numbers of GOP officials are actively trying to suppress democracy in the US, and just don't give a **** that they're committing crimes to do that. It's time to stop treating them as if this is "politics as usual", and start treating them as the criminals they are (see above).

If Republican voters don't like this, then it's about time they put a leash on the criminals they've allowed to take over their party.

As far as I can see, Republican voters seem perfectly content with the current state of the party. President Trump has 95% approval (even Gallup gives him high 80's low 90's) and all GOP representatives seem to be in lockstep when it comes to casting doubt on the election.

Again Republicans see themselves as just being entitled to power. Not just deserving of it.

Any system in which they don't have power must, simply must be broken. You can't argue the concept of a fair system where they aren't the winner to them.

And if you do so it only shows how deep engrained the dem-deep-state is. Going after fine reps with fake arguments.
It's a disgrace.
Biggest scandal in the universe!
We gotta stop 'em!
