*Disclaimer, I would advise people NOT to read this post if you are under the age of 13, home alone/live alone, or live in a rural or sparsely populated areas without relatives or neighbors near by, or if you are the type of person who is easily scared to the point where you hear, read, or watch something, and then end up not being able to get to sleep afterward.

1) The Quran – Since I believe the Quran to be the literal and inerrant word of God I also accept the many references which it makes to the Jinn.

2) Personal Experience – An extremely strange and unique experience which my wife and I were witness to, something which occurred on multiple occasions, and took place in our home over the period of about a week or so. This was something which happened approximately seven years ago and I would rather not go into the specific details.

3) The existence of Exorcists who operate free of charge - Such as with this website (just to provide one example). The fact that people are willing to do/associate themselves with this line of work without asking for money, says a lot in my opinion.

4) Aleister Crowley – Is said to have had an strange encounter with a demon while in Egypt. He claims that this being instructed him to write a book known as the “Book of the Law”. The book which he compiled is quite bizarre and is also in direct opposition to the teachings of the Abrahamic religions. *Although the story of Aleister Crowley does come across as genuine to me, I do realize that there is no way to confirm the accounts which he claims to have had as authentic.
Link to where his encounter is detailed.

5) Jinn Interrupts A Phone Conversation – This is a clip which was taken from a live call in show in the UK. *Although the clip does come across as genuine to me, I do realize that there is no way to confirm this clip as authentic.
Link to portion of show where the incident took place.
Link to the entire show.

6) The Audio tapes from exorcism of Anneliese Michel – As well as being able to speak some German I have also spoken with native speaking Germans and most agree that this is just not right. *Although the clip does come across as genuine to me, I do realize that there is no way to confirm this clip as authentic.

7) The Real Haunting in Connecticut – A documentary about a family which was said to have been harassed by both seen and unseen entities. *Although the documentary does come across as genuine to me, I do realize that there is no way to confirm the family's story as authentic.

8) ABC Documentary on Exorcisms – If you can't trust Barbara Walters, then who can you trust. No seriously, this documentary shows some of the steps which the Church takes before deciding to sanction an Exorcism, they also mention what they believe to be the four major signs of possession.

1) The Quran – Since I believe the Quran to be the literal and inerrant word of God I also accept the many references which it makes to the Jinn.

Some believe the Bible's account of a great flood. They are wrong, too.

2) Personal Experience – An extremely strange and unique experience which my wife and I were witness to, something which occurred on multiple occasions, and took place in our home over the period of about a week or so. Even if you did go into specific details, anecdotes are not evidence.

Gullibility is not evidence.

"Is said"? That doesn't even reach the level of anecdote.

Well, let's just skip these because you admit there may be authenticity issues. What you didn't admit is there may also be interpretation issues. Even with the events being authentic, there are other possibilities besides the Jinn.

Barbara Walters? Wow, just wow.

Your belief is founded in fairy tales?

10) Real Demonic Possession – 100% proof for the existence of Jinn/Demons

Ok, finally!!!!!!

100% proof of the existence of Jinn/Demons, please.

Is this your evidence bar, MikeB? I found it laying on the ground. In fact it had been trodden fairly into the ground and I had to dig it out.

Prove there is a god first before you go about telling us that your pamphlet contains a message from him/her/it. The rest of the post hardly rates comment. Note the number of times you say your "evidence" cannot be confirmed. That's another way to say that the evidence can't be tested and therefore has no value.

I believe in the Easter Bunny. I see evidence every year, without fail, of her wonderfulness.
Therefor, using your logic, the EASTER BUNNY exists.

I have first-hand experience with people who talk to jinn and remove their curses. It is my understanding, though through hearsay, that they legally cannot charge for such services in this country. At the very least it is frowned upon and, just as you suggest, not charging is seen as evidence of sincerity and legitimacy. What happens in Turkey is that these people accept financial gifts as standard practice. The guy I know of does this as his primary source of income and deals with queues of people outside of what would best be described as his place of business.

I suggest that this would be the case with almost all of the "free" jinn mediums that feature in the directory that you linked.

OK, Mike, this seems to be the "Jinn" spin-off of your Koran-science thread in Religion & Philosophy. I asked a question there and maybe you'll answer here. Since you cop here to the actual existence of Jinn and that they interact with people and natural things, I can streamline my question just to the nub.

If Jinn can compose religious poems, possibly high-quality poems compared with people-poems, and Jinn can trick or coerce people into doing things, then how do you eliminate the possibility that Jinn dictated the Koran to Mohammed?

So, indeed, the Koran is the top reason to believe in Jinn. We agree about that. But why couldn't it be the top reason because it is their literary production? Surely the Koran is a more impressive miracle than interrupting a phone conversation, exorcisms, or Aleister Crowley's say-so. No man could write such a book, or so it says and so you have argued in the other thread.

Well, Jinn aren't men. Why is not the leading hypothesis that one or more of them wrote the Koran?

Nice touch, although some scary spoiler tags would have enhanced the effect.

1) The Quran – Since I believe the Quran to be the literal and inerrant word of God I also accept the many references which it makes to the Jinn.

This is exactly the same reason I believe in Dementors, although I have different source for my belief.

It says a lot in my opinion too. So does the fact that people associate themselves with Amway.

Come to think of it, they're saying pretty much the same thing.

Not a good look.

4) Aleister Crowley – Is said to have had an strange encounter with a demon while in Egypt.

<snip>

There are no demons in Egypt. Sobek ate them all.

5) Jinn Interrupts A Phone Conversation – This is a clip which was taken from a live call in show in the UK. *Although the clip does come across as genuine to me, I do realize that there is no way to confirm this clip as authentic.

You don't say.

How exactly do you decide what to believe? Coin toss?

7) The Real Haunting in Connecticut – A documentary about a family which was said to have been harassed by both seen and unseen entities. *Although the documentary does come across as genuine to me, I do realize that there is no way to confirm the family's story as authentic.

But it was on TV!!! How could it not be authentic?

Have you tried clicking your heels together three times and saying, "There's no place like home"?

Red shoes work best for this.

10) Real Demonic Possession – 100% proof for the existence of Jinn/Demons

Well why didn't you say it was on YouTube in the first place?

All those other reason are superfluous.

Of course he is real. I know him personally. We play basket now and then in church. Age 20-30 years old. Dark skin, looks Asian. Am I getting close or cold?

Hey! I was being brilliant. Please pay attention peepz.

Well, my Easter Bunny ( in whom I have complete faith) doesn't believe in Jinns. So where do we stand?

Obviously I do not believe, nor have any reason to believe this pile of crap. But, I do enjoy a nice djinn and tonic on occasion.
