I met Sheridan years ago at poll tax rallys and I was the only person that didnt like him.He was a great speaker for telling the people what he thought they would want to hear.For me he was just too full of himself always wanting to be the big I am.
He certainly wont be so smarmy when the guilty vote comes in.

Yes, she looks under strain - maybe time to jettison hubby and turn Crown's evidence? Now, that would be the ultimate 'do in' !

He asked me to remove my clothes, which I did. I went into the toilet and put them in a bag. I kept my underwear on." Today's trial report describing an editor viewing a tape of 'evidence' against Tommy.

Have you noticed? Everyone seems to have lost their clothes at some point.
Even people he and the missus weren't having sex with.

No, both perjury but only Tommy actually doing the wife-swapping bit.

Mr Bird was giving evidence at the High Court in Glasgow, where Mr Sheridan and his wife Gail are accused of perjury.
They deny lying during his defamation victory against the newspaper in 2006.
The former Scottish Socialist Party (SSP) leader won £200,000 in damages after the News of the World printed allegations about his private life, claiming he was an adulterer who had visited a swingers club.
Following a police investigation, Mr Sheridan and his wife, both 46, were charged with perjury.

As I understand it, Tommy sued the NotW for libel and won, after they'd printed allegations about him going to swingers clubs - not Gail. However, both Tommy and Gail are alleged to have lied in court to get this result, hence they're both on the hook for perjury, and my remark about "stand by your man".

True. I was using poetic license - without making stuff rhyme. Mind you, I don't suppose you could tarnish her reputation anymore than it has been tarnished.
I can't imagine what she was doing with him, if she was straight up... unless she was unaware of what he was doing - which is also hard to believe.

If this trial doesn't finish with the judge revealing fishnet stockings and suspenders, and everyone chasing each other around the well of the court, I'm going to be very disappointed.

I shall award bonus points if the chief prosecutor shouts "OO me dockets" at a critical juncture.

Great news for Tommy: The Scottish Prison Service is ordering hundreds of flat-screen televisions for inmates in order to meet energy efficiency targets, it has emerged.

As an aside: I do like how the tabloid press (especially) use the term "flat screen" to try drum up outrage over the fact that someone is or has bought a TV - pretty much all TVs on sale today are "flatscreens" - it's like trying to cause outrage by saying they are having TVs with speakers.

Also the move to replace any of the old, heavy cathode-ray tube TVs is a very sensible one - the cathode-ray tubed TVs can too often be a danger to the staff (and prisoners).
