It wouldn't surprise me in the least if she was deliberately obnoxious in order to make a scene in which she got to be the center of attention. I've known narcissists like her, and it's not uncommon for them to engineer situations in which they act as though they're deeply offended, but they actually love every second of it.

Including the lady-lumps.

Boebert has sort-of-apologized, it seems, saying that the reason she had vociferously lied about vaping at the scene was because she forgot she had been. She blames the stress of a divorce.

She didn't think up those excuses herself. She is not capable of doing so. I'm envisaging a thorough and severe drill-sergeant ass-chewing by some GOP spin-doctor types, probably from the Trump faction.

Anyone who has worked in customer service can spot people like this as soon as they walk in the door. They don't go into restaurants to eat, or bars to drink, or clubs to dance. They go to be heard.

Here's another bit of shocking news; Ken Paxton, the Trumper TX AG who has been embroiled in one controversy after another for a decade, was acquitted on all 16 charges by the extreme right-wing controlled TX Senate.
The Texas Senate on Saturday acquitted Attorney General Ken Paxton of 16 articles of impeachment alleging corruption and bribery, his most artful escape in a career spent courting controversy and skirting consequences of scandal. No article received more than 14 of the required 21 votes to convict.
Only two of 19 Republican Senators, Bob Nichols of Jacksonville and Kelly Hancock of North Richland Hills, voted in favor of convicting for any article — a stark contrast to the nearly 70% of House Republicans who impeached the attorney general in May. The dramatic votes capped a two-week trial where a parade of witnesses, including former senior officials under Paxton, testified that the attorney general had repeatedly abused his office by helping his friend, struggling Austin real estate investor Nate Paul, investigate and harass his enemies, delay foreclosure sales of his properties and obtain confidential records on the police investigating him. In return, House impeachment managers said Paul paid to renovate Paxton’s Austin home and helped him carry out *and cover up an extramarital affair with a former Senate aide.

In the end, senators were unpersuaded
.

No, in the end the senators who voted for impeachment in May and voted 'not guilty' in September were persuaded...most likely by threats of being primaried, the usual GOP tactic to keep their guys in line.

If a Dem had done what Paxton did, he'd have been found guilty in a heartbeat.

It would have been nice if the Party of Corruption had any shame, but, well... I, at least, wasn't really expecting him to actually be removed. The GOP has been working to make the country more corrupt for a long, long time, after all, and the old "rules that protect, but do not bind the in group and rules that bind, but do not protect the out group" definitely is still in play.

The fruits of the GOP remain deceit and division, sabotage and betrayal, and corruption and death.
