The TAM 9 update thread

oh, i'm home. and i don't have a ton of time to type up my experience, but I had a blast. someone start putting up pics.

As I've already had a Buzz0 encounter, when he approached my friend I slowly turned to be behind him and gave her the wide-eyed slow "no" head shake. She's nice to everyone so I'm sure if I hadn't done anything she would have been nice enough to him that he would get to the super-creepy point.

I missed you guys. :(

I was very irritable all week and all weekend. My cow-orkers and classmates can attest to that.

I don't mean to rub this in, but a lot of us went out for sushi on Sunday.

No, really. I am not trying to rub it in. Not at all.

(I did not actually have sushi this time.)

So, where are the video uploads? Still waiting for Tyson's and Dawkins' speeches, you guys.

I am home and missing everyone already. I had so much fun as always. I laugh and smile at TAM more than I do everywhere else.

That's exactly what I was telling my coworkers this morning. I laughed more then I have in months!

I am pretty much the same way, with the exception of the local Drinking Skeptically.

Thanks Horatius for organizing the poker tournament. I'm always down for poker and it was a nice start to my first TAM.

Well, I'm glad you had fun [/PoorLoser] :D

But seriously, despite Hokulele finally breaking her losing streak with Our Bet, it was fun. We'll do it again next year for sure.

...
Somehow ended up in Coyote Ugly at the New York hotel getting into a stare down with a 6'8 inch tall guy
...
Punched the Horse

Damnit, I miss all the good stuff! :D

I'm still giggling over that entire conversation. The only thing that came close to topping it was my GF's first Buzz0 encounter.

But seriously, for everyone who missed it, Google "Amish Vampire", and prepare to laugh....there's this novel, you see......:boggled::eye-poppi:jaw-dropp

I was thinking this exact same thing. TAM brings out the friendly, gregarious me. Regular me is grumpier, makes less frequent eye contact, and tries not to make a habit of chatting up randoms in bars.

I'm gonna kick your a** in Istanbul, just you wait.

I think everyone's first Buzz0 encounter is a memorable one. Mine sure was (poor doggies) and it sounds like Shayna's was as well.

Once again, I feel like I missed so much. A feeling that gets harder and harder to support, as every year I actually manage to convince myself to participate so much more.

Maybe going could have made me feel better. The line up this year had me aching to go!

Two years ago, the 3 prewitts, Zack and I got to see Neil DeGrasse Tyson speak at Western Kentucky University, and he was as much fun as he is smart.

Before I met my hubby 16 years ago, I told my sons that my next husband would either be Bill Nye, Weird Al Yankovic or Adam Sandler! :o ;)

I didn't either, but the sashimi was delicious. ;)

I am in a hotel room in San Antonio. Last night I got to visit with Hamsterfan, Ixion and Charlie which makes me cooler than the rest of you.:D I should get home around the end of August.
