The Scale of the Universe

That is awesome!

Fuelair, what "adult" stuff?
The site has a mature (read - because I checked - XXX animations and animated games) section of games and animations. Have to go to that site to pull the other stuff. I or other teacher in trouble if the site is up and goes accidentally to same or if the kids pull it up and go to same. Really wish it had been done as an animation (like Powers of 10) so I could just pull it with no site contact. But.........:(

And, while I noticed the games and animations, I didn't pay sufficient attention to know that they were XXX. Bummer.

Thank you! I have been looking for this for a while. When I saw the thread title, I was hoping this was it.

Definitely a way to bring the world(and universe) into perspective. Great link right there! (same goes to the xkcd link.)

It's still absolutely mind-boggling how large of a universe we live in.

Here's one that I like - can't find the version with the music that I like though....oh well.

Thanks for those videos, Adin and Alan! I've seen them before and I love them!

I think it's appropriate that they used music from Spore in that Scale of the Universe thing. :)

Ah, I knew I recognised it from somewhere! Thanks.

I made a futile attempt to figure out how many orders of magnitude difference there are between the smallest distance and the largest distance either using my MS scientific calculator and an online calculator to no avail yet. None can handle such large and small numbers. If anyone can calculate that I'd really appreciate it. My math skills have waned appreciably since high school.

Thanks
