Cont: The Russian Invasion of Ukraine part 9

Rather worrying for the of the world's diesel prices. Maybe if Donny can just call off his Iran caper, that might help.
Not going to happen. He says it'll happen just after the midterms but that's just his new election-sensitive way to say "in two weeks". Meanwhile, he has realised he can try blaming Zelensky for the fuel price emergency Donny himself caused. I doubt if any but a very few of the faithful will fall for it.

Reading between the lines, Trump is waiting for the Iranian people to rise up and overthrow the regime. He's not going to invade, but he wants them defeated so that's his only plan - don't make a peace deal, keep claiming victory and that the Strait is open, tell us how much harder he's going to hit them the next time and the time after that, and just wait. So the world's energy supply is in pretty serious trouble.

Well, you'll have to explain it to me please. I'm not contesting it, but just pleading ignorance. In that table it seems to show higher pressure numbers for 5.56 rounds than .223 rounds. If they're in different units, you'll have to tell me what the units actually are for the two, before I can make an informed comparison.
The first two entries using the same test show the same pressure for .223 and 5.56

Also the pressure for standard M195 5.56 and .223 measured by SAMI is the same.

SAMI (Sporting Arms Manufacturers Institute) measurement for .223 is lower than the CIP (Permanent International Commission for the Proof of Small Arms) measurement by 7400psi

5.56 NATO measurements are all CIP and they never rise above the .223 measurement.

It's going to speed up the transition from fossil fuels, at least. One heck of a small comfort in the short term, but a silver lining nonetheless.

Nikolai Petrushev, Putin's presidential aide, has apparently said that Russia could end Poland in a day or two, should they enter the "conflict".

Very impressive indeed! Wonder why they didn't do that to Ukraine?
Asking the putin fanboys this question will get you my all-time favourite russian cope: That they are deliberately losing in Ukraine and would beat the country in a day if they decided to.

It's even more hilarious than when they pretend russia never have a goal of taking Kyiv in three days.

Because they aren't really trying yet
Just you wait until they do!

Moscow has been spouting nonsense like this since the outset of the war. I had no idea anyone was still paying attention, let alone trying to treat it like serious claims that have rational explanations.

??? I saw a sarcastic remark from Helen and I followed up by calling their cope hilarious. Are these people who take the russian ramblings seriously, or try to give them rational explanations in the room with you right now?

I get the part about not paying attention, though, I got to that point with the regime in Washington and their incessant 24/7 trolling and whining a long time ago.

There's a lot happening in Ukraine right now. Important stuff on the political, economic, and military side. None of it has to do with who funded Trump's wedding, or what irrelevant nonsense Moscow's shills are spewing this week and hoping others will disseminate on their behalf for free.

But somehow that's the stuff that keeps overrunning this thread. Post something about how the war is actually progressing, get a thumbs-up, and then the thread returns to Donald Trump and Russian propaganda. If we're lucky, we get a sidebar about western small arms calibers instead.

Although... Here in Norway the reaction has been more 'what can the State do to keep prices from rising too much so we can keep burning fuel as if nothing was happening?', just as we did when electricity prices soared. Never mind that Norwegians are among the top countries when it comes to electricity consumption per capita, even compared with similarily cold countries (we're way higher than Sweden and Finland). Conservation? What's that?

Russia has awarded a medal to the commander of the Soobrazitelny corvette, which fired signal flares toward a Danish military helicopter.

The Russian Defense Ministry said the commander received the Medal “For Combat Distinction.”

On September 14, the Russian corvette fired two signal flares toward a helicopter while it was flying near Falster Island in the Baltic Sea...

According to the Russian version of events, the crew of the Soobrazitelny “prevented a provocation” by the Danish helicopter, which allegedly failed to respond to calls over international communication channels...

Kremlin-Favored Russian General Awarded Medal for Fake City Capture Dies in Action

Russian Maj. Gen. Anton Grunis, 46, profiled by Kremlin media as a tactically brilliant Ukraine battle winner, died in a reported Sept. 12 drone strike by Ukraine’s 427th Brigade “Rarog” near Kindrativka. He had claimed (and reported to Putin) the false capture of Kostyantynivka...

Promotional footage released by Russia’s Ministry of Defense on Aug. 28 showed a live Grunis being awarded Russia’s highest medal for bravery “Hero of the Russian Federation” for success in battle, and stating to interviewers that he was honored and confident in Russian victory in Ukraine...

I assume a lot of it has to do with Norway being mostly coastline, directly exposed to the Arctic waters and weather. But what does this have to do with the war in Ukraine?
