Cont: The Russian Invasion of Ukraine part 9

Trump on Ukraine:

Biden gave them $350 billion, can you imagine? We did not get any of it back, but I did actually, I made a deal for rare earth.

I said, listen, if we go any further, we want rare earth and we want to get our money back, and I made a deal with Ukraine, a very fair deal where we get our money back.

The indecency is staggering !

A friend of Trump has won the bid for a major lithium deposit in Ukraine.

The bid concerns the development of the "Dobra" lithium deposit in the Kirovohrad region. This deposit is described as one of the largest lithium deposits in Ukraine.

It is noted that the winning consortium includes Ronald S. Lauder—the heir to a cosmetics company, who has known Trump since college and "gave him the idea to buy resource-rich Greenland."

Trump: If we don't take Greenland, you are going to have Russia or China as your next-door neighbor. That's not going to happen.

About the "not going to happen" thing: I can't help but notice it hasn't happened. If it was going to happen, why hasn't it happened?

80 years since WW2 ended and the cold war began, and throughout those decades, it didn't happen. 35 years since the collapse of the Soviet Union, ending the cold war, and in every year since then it didn't happen. Not happening seems to be a bit of a theme.

China isn't interested as there are easier pickings elsewhere in less miserable climates and where your mining operations won't be subject to European-level controls on the pollution you cause. Russia isn't interested as it's barely keeping its head above water as grandpa pursues his crazy war dreams and the nation reels under the cost.

It does seem the only invader Greenland needs to take as a really serious threat is you, Trump.

Not for nothing, of course. He's gonna need at least some money. Or a noble piece price. Or another soccer ball. Or Greenland. Or...
Well, it seemed the only logical way to stop the USA having Russia as its next-door neighbour. No doubt he'd find some way to make money from it too.
