What people still not seem to understand is that it is all about the Donbass where around 100K "soldiers" had time to dig in for eight years. And Russia digs them out in their pace, with only the pre$$titutes in any hurry. Once this is done with, Kramatorsk and Slaviansk fall, the Russians can take their tanks and drive all the way to Amsterdam to buy some nice weed if they intend to. Which they of course don't intend to do as they are self-sufficient.

KYIV, Ukraine — Ukraine may be outgunned but in the latest sign it is not yet outfoxed, a fleet of decoys resembling advanced U.S. rocket systems has tricked Russian forces into wasting expensive long-range cruise missiles on dummy targets, according to interviews with senior U.S. and Ukrainian officials and photographs of the replicas reviewed by The Washington Post.
The Ukrainian decoys are made out of wood but can be indistinguishable from an artillery battery through the lens of Russian drones, which transmit their locations to naval cruise missile carriers in the Black Sea. . . .
After a few weeks in the field, the decoys drew at least 10 Kalibr cruise missiles, an initial success that led Ukraine to expand the production of the replicas for broader use, said the senior Ukrainian official, who like others spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive military matters.

No doubt Putin hoped that a swift victory in Ukraine would have served as Arms Export show for Russian gear, as well as allow for increased naval production capabilities.

If there were any doubts as to the strengths of Russian communications and logistics, I'm sure this is a clear illustration that they are first rate. Running a city close to the front lines in the middle of a war would usually require you to be close to the action but the Mayor of Kherson can clearly do it from hundreds of kilometres away, and selflessly ensure that he isn't using vital resources which will be useful to the Russian garrison.

With its forces beaten back from Ukraine's two biggest cities and making slow headway at heavy cost in eastern provinces, the war has so far proved an unconvincing showcase for Russia's arms industry.
But Putin, addressing an arms show outside Moscow, insisted Russian weaponry was years ahead of the competition.
Russia cherished its strong ties with Latin America, Asia and Africa and was ready to supply allies there with a full gamut of weapons from small arms to armoured vehicles, artillery, combat aircraft and drones, he said. "Almost all of them have been used more than once in real combat operations."
He said Russia's offer included high-precision weapons and robotics. "Many of them are years, or maybe decades ahead of their foreign counterparts, and in terms of tactical and technical characteristics they are significantly superior to them."
