The psychic barber Gordon Smith.

It's obvious that cutting hair is what gives him his powers. Duh.

And, obviously, if he tried to win the Million Dollar Prize, Randi would just trick him by only bringing in people with non psychic-powers-enducing hair for him to barber.

Well, now he's famous, it's getting difficult getting an appointment.

He has been quite well known around Glasgow for some years, as was Albert Best. Like many folk who dabble in such nonsense, I think Smith initially felt he had a gift of some sort. As he has begun to realise that there was a rather better living to be made as a TV celebrity psychic, I get the impression what genuine integrity there was has succumbed to the "It's only a bit of fun and it makes people happy" line of reasoning.

This is the dilemma of the sceptic with such people- Their claims are so obviously nonsensical , that it's hard to believe a reasonably intelligent person , as Smith seems to be, could possibly believe it himself- therefore he must be a conscious fraud. Yet I think many self proclaimed psychics hang onto a belief in their own genuineness , long after most of us would think credible. It's honest denial. At what point that becomes conscious fraud varies from case to case. I think Smith himself is still on the cusp, but seriously flirting with the dark side.

can anybody 'pyschically' predict the missing word?
Doris Stokes= DEBUNKED
James Van Praagh= DEBUNKED
Allison Dubois= DEBUNKED
John Edwaed= DEBUNKED
Gordon Smith= ???????
"knowledge of science is inverse to belief in the 'supernatural'"

I was combing the internet for facts, but there were none worth trimming out.

Stop stop stop!! Hahahahaha... few things I read online make me bust out laughing like I just did.

I was trying to think of something clever like this earlier to counter the "cutting comment". I failed.

It's a game we play frequently when the topic goes inane - there are others.* I'm barely able to keep up with some of the champion punsters of the forum. Someone usually starts it... ;)

I guess I'll cut this short now.

I don't want to be barberic, but the case for souls isn't exactly razor sharp.
Indeed! The crowning glory of facts has blowed dry - it is bald of information.

Hmm... I'd dip my brush and comb into this tonsorial tonic of Barbasol, but alas, my wit is not as cutthroat to clip...er... quip.

AmyWilson is a great judge of character. I don't know how she can be so accurate with her insight into the minds and lives of mediums, psychics and other exploiters of the poor or unfortunate :)
Without AmyWilson our forum would be a bland and empty world, lacking in the kind of intellectual stimulation and insight that only Amywilson can bring.

AmyWilson has saved our lives. It's True :)
