This is at least somewhat consistent with the story and Reker's background. Much better than the original 'I did not know he was a prostitute'.

I don't believe one iota of it, but would have been a more believable lie if he had gone with it first and stuck with it.

The scary part is that, probably, Dobson will wind up offering a defense of this twit, and that there will be those who will accept it, instead of seeing it for the tripe that it is. Rekers has demonstrated that he can't be believed, that he's little more than a spiritual mercenary.

Puppycow: Sorry. Can't say what tipped us off.

All: I'm pretty sad that the rentboy was identified. He's a sweet kid who was doing his job. It's a tough world, a tough economy, and he needed money. The really wretched thing is that his friends didn't know about his line of work, and his family didn't even know he was gay. Imagine learning that your kid was not only gay, but a gay prostitute, from either The Tonight Show or The Times of London. It's a pretty grim thing. So, if you've got the inclination, please do consider writing him a letter of support.
