The Nazis a Warning from History

There has been all this propaganda against the “Nazis” for decades and yet there seems to be a new crop every generation.
Anyone care to explain this?

You didn't. I was just saying that the original quote by Santayana assumes that people will see parallels in their current situation by studying past ones, but overlooks that part of human nature which tries to tell us that we are new and improved humans now - so the failings of our fathers can't be repeated in us.

Propoganda? Are you serious? Every generation needs to be taught about the atrocities carried out by the biggest bunch of murdering bastards the planet has ever seen. Nazi ideology should remain dead and buried.

Fortunately, no one here would dream of doing that. And, damn I wish I had some video of SS and related hanging and slowly twisting in the breeze. Really a beautiful sight!!~!! Brings tears of happiness to my eyes just thinking about it!!!:):):):):):):).

BTW: my favorite part of Schindler's List is when the now POW ex concentration camp commander takes the short drop. Much glee ensued!!:):):):):)

As if that isn't enough, they were also losers. After all, they led Germany into a disastrous war which saw the country not just defeated, but wrecked from one end to the other. So not just a loss, but a bad loss.

Why on earth would anyone want to back losers of that magnitude? It undoubtedly takes a 'special' mindset.

Of course it is totally unfair to blame the nazis for extermnating millions of innocent people and largely if not fully responsible for starting World War 2 how stupid and blind I have been.

Folks, this thread has gone down the all-too-familiar path of so many threads concerning Nazis and Hitler. Many of those threads are still active. I urge you to post your general comments there. Some of the posts that are now in AAH might even be appropriate for those threads. But this thread was supposed to be about the documentary. So I've culled much of the off-topic, jokes, insults etc. and as result, there are not many posts left, and some of you have very full inboxes.

So keep it on topic and cut the insults and bickering or I'll show you a Master Erase.

Agree completely. I've never confused modern Germany with the acts performed by the nazis, but apparently some people do confuse the two. I was hoping to get to Berlin this month for a couple of days, but other committments have unfortunately got in the way, so it looks unlikely now.

It's always easy to blame "the other" for things that are wrong in ones own society, or to divert away from your own shortcomings.
"I have no job because the Poles have come over and taken it."
"I have no money because of the evil jewish bankers."
"I can't afford a house because Black people have taken our housing stock."
"It's all their fault, if we could get rid of them everything would be better."

It's stupidly gross oversimplification designed to appeal to simple minds, and a false nostalgia for "better times previously" which didn't actually exist.
