This story is commonly repeated as proof that bigfoot skulls have been found and are being covered up.

So this is another example of using one unsubstantiated claim to bolster a separate unsubstantiated claim.

Completeness isn't an insurmountable issue. I'd prefer jaws and teeth, but higher skull material can still tell us a lot.

As for the lack of photographs, it's rather deplorable. The first link isn't exactly informative, either. "It's somewhere in the UCLA collections!" doesn't fly--I use the University of California Museum of Paleontology website quite extensively, and can attest to the staff's ability to create easy-to-use records. (This database includes Recent material, due to some interesting climatological and ecological shifts in the past 10k years, so this skull should be included.)
