Nice work by Chris Bovey:

On October 1, Chris Bovey—a 41-year-old from Devon, England—thought he’d troll the chemtrails camp. During a flight from Buenos Aires to the UK, his plane had to make an emergency landing in São Paulo and dumped excess fuel to lighten the load. Since he had a window seat, Chris decided to film all the liquid being sprayed out of the wing next to him.

Touching down, he uploaded the video with a caption that suggested it could be evidence of chemtrails, hoping to mess with a couple of friends who he knew might fall for it. The video now has 1.1 million views, nearly 20,000 shares, and dozens of comments telling viewers to “wake the F up," or accusing naysayers of being “stupid paid shills."

He then claimed (falsely) that he’d been detained at Heathrow upon arrival, been interrogated by the authorities, and had his phone confiscated. That riled everyone up even more, with “conspiraloon” (Chris’s term) website NeonNettle.com picking up the story and reporting it as evidence of chemtrails.

[...]In Chris’s case, that involved being invited onto a radio show hosted by Richie Allen, a friend of David Icke—the man who claims we’re being ruled by a group of lizard overlords disguised as world leaders. On air, Chris admitted that the whole thing was a hoax and got into an argument with the host about the validity of the chemtrails theory.

Since then, Chris has been subject to a stream of “vulgar abuse” from pissed-off conspiracy theorists—which, admittedly, is completely his own fault.

The article contains an interview with Bovey, which is well worth the extra click.

This all reminds me of Unsecured Coins' hoax on Alex Jones.

Yes, a classic case of how they'll leap on any "proof", without stopping to think about how likely it is that the "proof" is true.

I'd recommend watching his video, and then contemplating the mindset that thinks something so obvious could be spewing out of commercial airplanes every day, all over the world, and yet this is the first time we've ever seen video of it.

Another example would be the letter from "Mike the EMT" that the Loose Change boys were pimping for a short while. A letter from an anonymous source, who just happened to be perfectly placed to see all the major "events" of the CT version of 9/11? Yeah, no way that's a fake!

[Conspiraloon] Well, of course he'd say it was a hoax- that's what he was made to say by the authorities who interrogated him at Heathrow! [/Conspiraloon]

Recalling Randi's long-ago hoax psychic stunt, I wonder how many chem trailers have cried out, "Don't listen to them, Chris! We believe you!"

I had the same thought. I remember one of the parapsychologists, after Project Alpha was exposed, asking "How do they know they're fakes?"

On all L-1011 delivery operational flights, dumping fuel was one of the standard items on the check list. Another fun one was depressurizing the cabin to check that all the oxygen masks would deploy from the overhead containers.
With the fuel dump, one of the engineers that had a VW Rabbit would have a major fit... enough fuel for his car for a year!!! just tossed out the dump valve! :)
Standing up when the cabin was depressurized... not a good idea. One would HAVE to sit down immediately, or fall down!

It's all fun and games, but now that video will be used as evidence FOR chemtrails from now until doomsday. It's the same as the Patterson film. It won't matter to many that the maker admitted it's a fake. From here on out they believe the film not the person who made the film.

Reminds me of the time I tried to demonstrate to a believer friend how easy it was to make fake predictions that "come true" if you word them just the right way. So I came up with a few off the top of my head. Well, the first one did indeed come true, or at lease close enough for my friend to conclude I really was a psychic only my stubborn skepticism wouldn't allow me to admit it, even to myself.

It's the flipside to (complement of?) "skeptics send out negative vibes which prevent psychic powers from working".

My own favorite hoax of this kind is the guy who called in the infamous "Coast to Coast" radio show (whose hosts constantly push Woo and Conspiracy theories) claiming to be a scienctist named Gordon Freeman who is working at the Government ran Black Mesa Research Center, and is concerned by some wierd things he has been seeing, and is convinced that there are aliens being kept at the site. ....

And the host and the callers fell for it hook ,line and sinker.

Similarly, I remember someone calling in with a story they had heard about a Norwegian mercenary who was murdered by the CIA in the 1960s and whose headless ghost had subsequently been seen haunting war zones around the world.
The host admitted that the story sounded familiar and he was pretty sure that he had heard about it too.

"Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner", by Warren Zevon.

They can still see his headless body stalking through the night.

Pardon me for butting in, could someone answer a few chem trail questions for me?

What are they allegedly spraying?
How do the evil masterminds behind this scheme avoid breathing the air?
How could people think this is the best way to deliver chemicals to the masses?

Thanks in advance.

Just about everything and anything. From sunscreen to mind controlling drugs to whatever.

How do the evil masterminds behind this scheme avoid breathing the air?
They are reptilians and are immune.

How could people think this is the best way to deliver chemicals to the masses?

Thanks in advance.
Physics and practicality are never stumbling blocks for these people.

Numbered to answer your questions in order:

  1. Contrails are just exhaust, so contain particles of what is usually in exhaust. As for Chemtrails, the answers vary but usually aluminum. As for why aluminum is in any way scary, I couldn't begin to pretend to say why. The reasons behind Chemtrail seem to vary as well and can range from population control to geoenginering, or terraforming.
  2. These are the same people who think those in charge are evil Jewish bankers, shape shifting aliens from nibiru, or the puppets of Satan. Why would they need to worry about breathing the same air as their targets when they're immune to the effects of the Chemtrails?
  3. Beats me, but the people promoting Chemtrails also some how believe that Chemtrails can be defeated by spraying a bottle of vinegar into the sky from ground level. Yeah, you try figuring that out.
