You only have to file taxes if you have a job.

I myself have at one point not filed a tax return for 3 years straight. Of course one of those years I spent unemployed with 0 income and the other 2 I had a job but was owed a (very, very small) refund.

If you do not owe additional taxes that April 15th deadline each year does not apply to you. If the IRS owes you a refund you can hold off filing for several years.

I love the "Give us our money now ... Oh, we owe you? Hey don't worry about it then. Take your time. We can wait." attidude of the IRS.

To be fair, I used to work for a tax agency (not income tax though), and I can tell you that it takes far more people to get the tax in the first place than to give the money back.

The agency also took care of first home owner grants, and the first home owner bonus, but there were not many people in those departments. So if all of a sudden everyone decided they wanted to apply for a payout, that small department would get a LOT of work, far more than they could handle most likely. And it would in no way decrease the work other departments have to do - in fact it would increase the total work.
 
They have finally removed my right to view their board. How did the proxy view work, in case I sometimes want to take a peek?
 
Interesting. The poster known as 'shure', he of the whacky telephone calls and frequent meltdowns, has tripped over the edge on his discovery that Alex Jones may not be entirely truthful and now, after annoying the others on LCF makes this comment........

After being banned from the LCF for the second time I thought I might as well register here. I've been interested in conspiracy theories for a while, 9/11 ones since the infamous (among "truth" people anyway) BBC "hitpiece". I watched the Loose Change film (!), catagorised the many, many errors and distortions in my head and signed up to the forum.

It's probably the strangest forum I've ever been on, moderation is very one sided (I was banned for comparing them to toddlers, a nutjob named beached has racked up hundreds of posts, each one blaming "Zionists" for everything), debate is limited to how much of a conspiracy users think it is, rather than if it was a conspiracy, sources are only trustworthy if they agree with their particular theory (see the holding up of that discredited BBC "hijackers still alive story", yet the complete dismissal of everything else they report) and so on. Logic, reasoning, science and evidence have no place there.

Happily it seems to be a movement made up of teenage boys (err, like myself), David Icke style conspiracists (not like myself) and far right neo nazi types (definitely not like myself), none of whom should be taken seriously. They're not going to be storming the White House any time soon, that's for sure.

Welcome Sergio. The collection of people here tends to be more on the mature side, with much less radical behaviour or thought processes. I hope you find the answers you are looking for.

The Conspiracy Theories forum is like the bastard step-child of the JREF forums, so be sure to visit the rest of the forum to get a real flavor for what the rest of the world (outside the 9/11 CT world, where calling someone a "JREFer" is a lower blow than "shill" or "neocon") means when they refer to JREF.
