This is the part that I have to look into, Arus. In Canada, the one party rule applies regarding taping telephone calls, and presumably the actual taping occurred in Ontario, so it may not be illegal for someone to tape a call here, no matter what jurisdiction the call is placed to. But I will find out very soon.
 
By the way, by "very soon" in this instance, I mean within a few days, not a few hours.

I've done quite a bit of cross-border litigation but not on the particular issue of the origin of telephone calls and which location has jurisdiction over them in this particular context (i.e. criminal rather than contractual, for instance), so I want to do some research, consult with colleagues, and come up with a comprehensive answer to the question of whether Jeff can be prosecuted here in Canada or whether the only judicial recourse for his actions are in PA courts. (If the latter, there are probably significant limitations to the practical application of the PA law despite the fact that PA courts would have jurisdiction over the offence). Anyway, I'll leave it at that for now, pending further research and consultation.

Dylan Avery got on the Alex Jones’s show to correct the record the other day. As reported here (1) and in the Hustler porn magazine the Hollywood superstar Avery had a $20 million dollar budget. In this audio from the recent Alex Jones’s radio program Dylan tells us all that the $20 million budget is only for print and advertising an additional $2 million will be put to the film production and $1 million of that will finally go to pay for rights (something they finally learned about).

So, now we understand from the interview that Dylan is in the Hollywood blood veins now getting the funds from the very media who has ignored this all in the past.

He also assured the 911 Truth movement and Alex Jones that the Loose Change Second Editions. Alex and everyone were relieved that they could sell their inventory of the bogus film. As Dylan said on TV “Loose Change really is not a very fair representation of 911truth”. (2)

It is in bad taste that these two corporate mongers and sellers of bogus wares continue to sell something they readily say “I will be the first to admit our film definitely contained errors, it still does contain some dubious claims, and it definitely does come to some conclusions that are not 100 percent backed up by the facts.” Dylan Avery. Of course Alex Jones does not seem to care about that as he hawks the item from his storefront.

Dylan is frantically trying to get his "film" into Cannes and the Hollywood money is behind him to make a new Micheal Moore. Control the information and the MTV stars.

Dylan’s only goal now to get his “film” into a paying theater audience while keeping the charade of a real patriot rather than a freshly minted millionaire.

now he wants mark to explain why we called willie rodiguez a liar... I know we called him mistakened and influenced by the ct'ers,, but of course in pdoh's mind, when we call someone mistakened it means we are calling him a liar.

He should read the Rules and Regulations:

Only films that meet the following conditions may be chosen for invitation in the Official Selection:

1° Films that have been produced during the twelve months preceding the Festival;
2° Films that have not been released anywhere other than their country of origin;
3° Films that have not been presented at any other international motion picture event;
4° Films that have not been exhibited on Internet;
5° Films that respect the aims of the Festival as defined in Article 1;
6° If participating in the "short film" category, films that do not exceed 15 minutes in length, including credits

As far as his claim to be the last survivor of the north tower. It is an ouright lie and Rodriguez is well aware of it.

He will likely submit it under fictional narrative (good luck), and as long as the FC of it is substantially different from the other versions, he can slip under the other rules you mentioned.

If he gets into Cannes as a fictional narrative, the documentary community will have a f&*king heart attack.

It will be interesting to see. Another question, which off hand I do not know the answer to, if he submits it "out of competition", can he submit it as a Documentary?

I'm not aware of any "no documentaries" rule, nor could I find mention of it on the official Cannes website. After all, Fahrenheit 9/11 won top honors a couple years ago, so it's not like they're not open to political films. In fact, their philosophy is to make a wide range of films available.

Cannes also wants its films to be premieres, so I don't think "this is not the same movie that's been circulating on the Internet for months" is going to wash.

There's also the small issue of a March 20, 2007 deadline. Cannes needs to have the finished film by then. Submitting the films for Cannes implies that it's going to be "in the can" by then. Is this consistent with other things we've heard about the film's development schedule?

And even if Loose Change overcomes all those obstacles, the judges will probably take one look at it and quickly realize that it lacks any artisitic, cinematic or informational value. Seriously, go to the Cannes website and see how arty most of the films are. Cannes audiences laughed at The DaVinci Code, for crying out loud. Submitting Loose Change to Cannes is like mailing a warm six-pack of Budweiser to the San Francisco International Wine Competition.
