This government hates single mothers? How compassionate this government is, making life even more difficult for our most vulnerable and impoverished. I guess this 80,000 aren't fashionable enough to warrant consideration.

What's this to do with Gillard? Take this clearly off-topic stuff to the thread specifically about Macklin and the $35 per day.
 
Being a single parent myself I'd like to comment but like you said LK, it would be off topic and I don't even think it's worth a new thread.
 
I have reported this thread for spamming, and have suggested that it be merged with your previous 'trash Julia Gillard' thread.

No idea of what is or isn't good about Julia Gillard, but I have read a bit of each thread and believe they belong together.
 
It really isn't hard to make the link between this issue and Gillard. Gillard is the leader of the party that has imposed this reduction of income on 72,000 single mothers. This has been done in a forlorn effort to keep Gillard's promise to bring the budget into the black. Macklin was only the messenger.

The issue is totally on topic; Gillard's politics and poor judgement is now hurting single mothers. Future posts will also add clarity.

The other thread is not in politics but current events, and it's essence poses the question as to whether one could live on $35 per day. This has been answered by any number of posters.

Merging this would contravene the decision already made by the mods who specifically advised me to start a new thread on "Gillard is useless" as opposed to "Gillard is a liar". Apparently they are different.

I trust this clarifies things sufficiently for both other posters as well as the moderators.

I believe Darth is making a different point altogether, and I imagine it's related to all the firearms threads. I could be wrong.

Federal Treasurer Wayne Swan has rejected backbench calls for the Government to reinstate higher welfare payments for single parents.

Tens of thousands of single parents have been moved from their parenting payments onto the lower Newstart allowance, with some left more than $100 per week worse off.

This sounds like it's getting messy in the Labor ranks.

Prediction: Julia will step in and reinstate the payments - like a knight in shining armour. She is in a position to do so now and be the hero as all bets are off regarding a surplus (which was the only reason for the cuts in the first place). Sadly for them, Macklin and Swan will be left looking like fools - but it wouldn't be the first time she has left others holding the bag.

I thought he was talking about the "liar" thread. I agree, these troll threads should be rolled into one.
 
In the meantime, the Gillard government hates single mothers. Perhaps they are misogynists?
