WTC1, WTC2 and WTC7.......the three times a building suffered severe structural damage and unfought fires they collapsed...........3 for 3.
I admit, I read the first page of thios thread then skipped happily to the last one. So this may indeed have been pointed out to Newtonian;
What common characteristics do these 3 structures have?
1) all steel supports and long span floor designs
2) unfought fires
The towers also had significant damage done to them by the aircraft impacts. To try to state otherwise simply ignores the eyewitness accounts of structures that were creaking and cracking as well as the obvious physical effects such as the tilt of the top part of WTC 2.
The towers fires were widespread, multifloor and immediate due to the thousands of gallons of acellerant launched into them at the aircraft impacts. This single condition is something that has never occured anywhere else in the world.
So these two structures faced two insults that have never occured to highrise long span structures before, high speed impact by airliner and immediate widespread multifloor office fires.
WTC 7 was all steel support structure with long span floors AND one other feature; assymettrically placed floor beams. Long duration unfought office fires in such a structure is something that has never occured in the past and therefore the result being something that has not been observed to have occured in the past is not problematic either.
So Newtonian's 'probability' is usless. He is taking the entire world population of steel structures and calling it all even when in fact if one observes the characteristics of the buildings involved it becomes obvious that the COMBINATION of insults they received make such 'probabilities' worthless.
