Then this one statement tells me you are not truely trying to see things from a holy God's perspective. The only one that was capable of coming in the flesh and living a life without sin was God the Son. Because Jesus was/is holy his sacrifice was acceptable to God.

The only way a holy God can forgive ONE sin much less the multitude of many sins by many people is to kill a person guilty of no sin.

Your statement tells me you believe a holy God kills innocent life in order to forgive.

I mean, you're entitled to your belief. But again, I find the Gospel offensive because it accuses God of premeditated murder. You call it holy. I don't.

I just want to back up and let you guys know I was once not open to hear it either. I kept pushing my almost ex-husband away because I did not want to hear it. This is the same behavior I see in you guys now. All I can say is that I hope someday you will at least try to be more open to Christ! Kathy, very simple fact that you continue to fail to grasp. Untill you understand the following statement, you will continue to be viewed as a preachy, whiney, egomanical bitch by most on this forum.

It's not a matter of us denying him, or being angry, or not listening. As far as any of us know, there is no such being as god.

So either preach on, and continue to get ridiculed, or finally make some attempt to understand your audience. If we do not believ in god, then the bible or what your preacher say are absolutely meaninglesss to us.

I think the god described by kathy is at best a raging two-year-old and at worst a sociopathic murderer. My problems with kathy have to do with her lack of intellectual honesty, her ongoing meaness and cruelty to others, and (because I'm a snob) her stupidity.

We've listened and listened, but you keep spouting the same empty platitudes at us that have no meaning in reality. If you were to give us anything...ANYTHING...to really think about, maybe we'd bother to take the time. But all you say is "God is great" and "The Bible says so" and "All other religions are false." Never anything that can be verified or falsified.

You don't listen to us. We tell you that we require evidence of your fantastical claim that there's a big invisible man in the sky who watches over everything we do and answers our requests if we ask real nice. You just say "God is great." You don't even know how to debate specific points. You usually just respond to one little thing someone says and ignore anything that you can't figure out how to answer with "God is great."

But WE don't listen? I can't stop laughing!

Classic example of what I just said about ignoring everything someone says. You post a long, rambling story from a college professor about how some dying student turned in fear and desperation to the hope of eternal life (which does nothing to prove that there IS a god or eternal life, just that dying people might hope there is). Someone goes to the trouble to check out the story and finds that that very guy has been accused of molesting several of his students. All you can say in rebuttal to this is that we're creating "adversity" and "playing games."

All I see is someone throwing accusations around about that without any evidence that it really happened. Anyways, I am not willing to play that game.
