BTW, apparently Qaddhafi's right hand man Abdel Fattah Younès al-Abidi has resigned, and has joined the revolution.

I was really going for the "put up against the wall and shot" part, but the speechifying resonated too.

But the poor guy said, if he were a President he would have tendered his resignation (well, thrown it in the faces of the protestors, but still...), fact is, apparently he's just a little guy who is the revolution. And he has a gun.
 
I actually think it's an interesting discussion that "martyr" doesn't mean what it means in the western sense, since this is how the press has translated what Qaddhafi said, which would be an error, and the press should be told.

It does make more sense that he would be saying :"I will go down fighting" instead of a "martyr", as we understand the word. but I don't see how this applies to suicide bombers, since they deliberately give their lives for a cause, which would be more in tune with our interpretation of the word.

So the crew ditched a jet rather than follow his orders to bomb protesters? If they kill this guy they WILL televise it and regional fear will drop another 5 notches and gas will go up another $5 dollars a gallon.

I can just hear the Republicans now..... "We shoulda drilled Anwar OFF with Obama's HEAD!"
 
I want to find an original video without the translator speaking over him so that I can redub it for comedy purposes. Anyone have any idea where I can find that?

A friend of mine in the UK was actually going to Libya and Egypt on a "Battlefield Tour" of the World War 2 sites there (his Father fought in the Eight Army) but the company who does the tour just cancelled.

Maybe Gahdiffi will hole up in Tobruk for a last stand..Siege of Tobruk Part 2.....

The ultimate in surrealism earlier on Al-Jaz (I think it was). Ahmedinejad, glorious Iranian president, calling for Gadhafi to relinquish control to the will of the Libyan people. Otherwise Gadhafi's fate is sealed ... "it is written".
