There is another thread about books we read and reread over and over again. Some of the ones I never stop looking through are the old Far Side comics.

After 25 years, 'The Far Side' is back -- with an online debut and new comics

The CNN article provides context. But really the main thing is the website itself:

The Far Side

It has some sketchbooks up already with some previously unreleased material, with more coming. He'll be adding some new comics from time to time as well.

I am happy about this. I don't imagine there will be a whole lot of new material, but even a few might be nice.

ETA: This is the "History, Literature and Arts" subforum, and the Far Side (IMHO) fits at least two of those criteria, I am hoping it does not moved to the "Movies, TV, Music, Computer Gaming, and other Entertainment" subforum which is full of Philistine Barbarians, although I totally just posted there as well...).

This is great news. I will never tire of The Far Side, I love Gary Larson! It feels like some like some brightness to an otherwise dark, rainy day.

Best news in a long time - Yes I have all the books and I read them again every year or so.

My favorite from the old days was the one about the 'Boneless Chicken Ranch'.

So I am looking forward to these new comics.

:)

My all time favorite is taking place in a clearly freshly wrecked bar, strewn with bodies. The waitress is giving a statement to police. "It's always a little rough around here, you know? But then this little sailor dude whips out a can of spinach, crazy music just comes outta nowhere, and... and... Well look at the place!"

The one I feel is most appropriate for skeptics and debunkers:

I have to say this: We have enough material and wisdom in Far Side to start a new religion. Anyone want to be the Messiah? Who wants to write the (illustrated) book of wisdom?
