The end of Medicare...

Yeah, ditch it. Go back to "the good ol' days" where full global coverage reigned and it was all so simple to understand. No more of this librul feminazi pinko commie socialist one-payer stuff like they have in the rest of the first world.

Nah. Their plans are probably to cut Medicare spending somewhat, and are planning ahead as how to sell it. Telling people you're going to cut down on Medicare spending is a though sell, but telling people you're going only cut down Medicare spending when they're convinced you're going to eliminate it might actually win you votes in the end.

If nothing else, Trump (or his team) is a master manipulator.

Read the links, and google "Paul Ryan Medicare." It's not a question of cutting spending. Paul Ryan and his ilk have for years sought to replace Medicare with a voucher plan: the elderly would receive a cash voucher to buy private insurance. But there is no guarantee -- or even intention -- that the vouchers would pay the full, or even a large part of the price, and there is no control over what insurers could charge or would cover. Ryan has lied blatantly about the costs of "Obamacare" and its impact on Medicare. And when interviewers ask Ryan for specific details about who and what and how much, he invariably says "We'll work out the details later."

In short, Paul Ryan's "specific plan" is to end Medicare as it has existed -- and as the elderly have relied on it -- since 1964.

I already had read the first to links and I am not scared.
A similar thing was said after the budget in 2011? and it became Politifact's Lie of the Year. Although I don't put a lot of trust in their choices.

The way I understood his original plan was it would not affect anyone who was close to 65. Those with means would have more to pay. Vouchers to pay towards medical insurance. Raise the age to 67.





Anyway I would wait until actual proposals are out.

That is what I'm doing. With anything related to Trump you really don't know what is going to happen until there is a bill is actually proposed. Until then, the rhetoric will change by the minute in polar opposites depending on what eat last and how much gas he has.
 
It's worth pointing out that Paul Ryan's top advisor,Dan Senor, is the one who released the pussy-gate tape. Perhaps Paul Ryan doesn't have long to live ...

Ryan seems obsessed with Medicare,an obsession that lot of his GOP colleagues with large senior citizen constituents do not share. I suspect that here might be some tinkering, but not the end of Medicare.

Whatever emerges will still be called Medicare, but replacing the existing insurance program with vouchers will certainly result in something very different. Some of the other things Ryan talks about, like tying premiums to income levels, could be done within the current program. One reason some Repubs are so opposed to Medicare is that it serves as an example of a single-payer health insurance program that works pretty well, and advocates for universal coverage propose "Medicare-for-All" as a practical plan based on something that everybody is already familiar with.
