Trying to get this straight. Republicans boycott Bud Lite over a promotional choice, leading to a loss of value in Florida State pension funds, which were partly invested in Bud Lite's parent company InBev. And so now DeSantis is going to sue InBev because a boycott he supported damaged their value?

Standard practice for the GOP, alway blame the other guy regardless of the circumstances. It's just like a husband suing his beaten wife for the blood on his clothes - "Look at what you made me do !!".:rolleyes:

If Inbev hadn't been all woke then DeSantis wouldn't have had to take these extreme steps to protect kids from TransBeer and Florida's public employees would still have their pension funds intact.:rolleyes:
 
The GOP logic is: "It's not my fault for punching your face, it's your fault for having a face I wanted to punch. And punching your face hurt my fist, so I demand compensation! "

Plus the legal bills will cost the state more than any alleged loses from the stock going down. It's the kind of lose-lose situation DeSantis is known for.

No problem. Winning is so woke anyway. His base is steeped in the lore of the Lost Cause and the prosperity gospel world of bootstrap billionaires and virginal child brides with sidearms, so who better to carry the banner than the self-made martyr to the downtrodden White Christian minority?

Although there's a theoretical distinction here, if a protest turns into an insurrection the important point is what it became, not what it was supposed by some to be. This is, after all, the very argument the Desantistas and their ilk make whenever a protest they don't like gets out of hand.

Yes, but it's really a constructed pretense.

Rather obviously, this is a sidelong attempt to effectively ban corporations from openly doing business with or running ad campaigns that feature LGBTQ people, by setting a legal precedent that doing so inherently violates the company's "fiduciary duties" by risking boycotts.

An important correction was made to the original article: apparently DeSantis's official social media had nothing to do with the video or sharing it. It was a fan account that shared it and then removed it.

It tells you what kind of people the campaign is attracting, but I think in this case we can't say that Desantis or his campaign specifically did anything wrong.

It's a shame, because having a job on his campaign is probably the only thing keeping this bunch of perpetually online weirdos from shooting up their local synagogue or women's gym. A direct aid incel remediation program
