The Danish Muhammed Caricatures

Hey, a lot of Muslims that are living in Europe and the US and Canada are here because they would be DEAD if they lived back in their home country.

...snip...

Not in the UK - most of our Muslim population is as a result of enticing Muslims to emigrate to the UK to help overcome our (then) lack of unskilled workers.

Well, first off, don't take my bursts of anger too seriously.

2ndly, I only suggest fighting off those that start the fight. Muslims all over the world won't see a fight if they don't start one. I certainly don't look at my neighbour muslims as the enemy. Only those muslims taking up arms would see the fight wherever they take up arms.

I'm just saying, if they want a fight, they will get one, and I won't be one saying it's just "all about the oil" and picketing for peace. Peace will come once the dust settles. Taking over the middle east once and for all in a complete war would see the end of this craziness, I would hope, just like WW2 put an end to nazi occupations in European countries.

Finally, if those 3 EXTRA cartoons are what actually have the muslims in a tizzy, then they only have themselves to blame since muslims were the ones that put them in with the rest of the not so offensive cartoons. They can then fight amongst themselves for inciting rage. Implosions are usually a little less destructive.

Lastly, what are we going to see in the future if current trends continue? Will vigilantes nuke the free world? What is a realistic outlook for the next 50-100 years? We've seen this accelarate from 20 years ago, and pick up momentum in the last 5 years. It's really starting to scare me. When I get scared I get angry or sad. I got mad for a bit there.

This has an interesting effect on what, for want of a better word, I will call the apologists.

It is claimed that the original 12 cartoons are inherently offensive because Mohammed is being pictured.

However, the Danish muslim group add three images (one was a crude cartoon, and the other two were photoshoppings). The only reasonable explanation for that is that they felt the original cartoons were not offensive enough to guarantee the desired amount of outrage.

You can't have it both ways.

For the record the Muslim delegation who traveled the Middle Eastern countries to "keep the ball rolling" has claimed that those extra drawings/pictures were sent to them anonymously, but that renders the claim untestable, so who knows.

Out of curiosity what will you do with the approximately 1 to 2 million USA citizens who are Islamic? Intern them for life or kill them or deport them (assuming another country will have them)?

You mean these guys?
Sam Harris' "The End of Faith", p 261-262
Terrorist Hunter [New York: HarperCollins, 2003], whose anonymous author has gone undercover to tape the proceedings at Muslim conferences in the United States, depicts a shocking level of intolerence among Muslims living in the West. The author reports that at one conference, held at the Ramada Plaza hotel in suburban Chicago, Arab American children performed skits in which they killed Jews and became martyrs. Sheikh Ikrima Sabri, the grand mufti of Jersulalem and Palestine (appointed by Yasir Arafat), recently announced , "The Jews do not dare to bother me, because they are the most cowardly creatures Allah has ever created.... We tell them: In as much as you love life, the Muslim loves death and martyrdom" (ibid., 134). Sabri, who regularly calls for suicide bombers ("The younger the martyr, the more I respect him" - ibid., 132), spoke these words not at a mosque on the West Bank but at the Twenty-sixth Annual Convention of the Islamic Circle of North America, in Cleveland, Ohio.

What is one to do with a group who, the more they believe in their faith, the more likely they are to carry out the commands of their religion? To wit: "Believers, make war on the infidels who dwell around you. Deal firmly with them. Know that God is with the righteous." (Koran 9:73)

What we do know is that they decided to include them. That's where the buck stops.

If I were to promulgate something that I claimed was sent to me anonymously, then people would blame me. And rightly so.

In any event, if these had been published in Danish newspapers, it would a simple matter to quote number and issue, or date.

Iran does not the rest of the islamic world does as far as I know.

I meant the USA citizens who are also Muslims that I presume have the same rights as all other USA citizens?

BS Investigator wishes to declare war on "Muslims" therefore that means declaring war on the million or so in the USA so I think it's a legitimate question to ask what someone who is advocating such a policy would do about the million or so USA citizens who would become the enemy.

So did I.

Well, being at war with someone doesn't mean you will fight all of them the same way. In WW2, we were at war with Germany, but we didn't try to intentionally shoot non-participants (anyone who worked in a munitions, rubber, etc plant was participating, but we tried to bomb the plant... not each individual home of each worker who was employed there)

Thus, if we have a Muslim who has tossed aside his literal belief in the Koran, etc, in much the same way that an Xtian or Jew has tossed aside his literal interpretation of the OT and/or NT (if someone wears a shirt made of two different threads, kill him), then we have someone who is really not a threat, and thus should not concern us.

When we have someone who believes that the intentional targetting of civilians in order to "defend Islam" is EVER justifiable... why would be want this person in our country? Especially when the book that he has complete faith in instructs him to "make war on the unbeliever"? We're at war... but it is anyone who believes in their backward religious tome completely that is at war with us.

If we had 14th century Xtians over there, and among our number (the ones who did things like burn witches, kill heretics in the Inquisition, etc), who were trying to do the same things that the active Muslims are doing, then I would demand the same thing.

How is all this to be handled? Gosh, I dunno. "the devil is in the details" and all that. But just because a task might give us the heebie-jeebies, doesn't make the facts, that lead to the decisions to be made to address them, any less true.
