Oh, sorry... here's a version that doesn't paywall you. This one ran before the bill was paid. This story ran on the 8th, and he paid it on Saturday, the 10th and paid nearly double the original bill:

Yeah, I think someone figured out what that bill would be, and it was definitely less than he paid. Don't remember the exact number, and think it depended on how the interest was compiled.
