I' m currently studying the conservation of momentum (Barely started about an three hours ago). I have no idea what is. Googling it explains it to me and I somehwat understand it. Can anyone give me any articles or reports on the law and why it wasn't violated so I can understand it better. Thanks.

Simply put, if one is residing in this universe in which the law of conservation of momentum has been shown to be in effect then it was not violated.

However, what Lunetoc means is that he wishes to understand how it applied to the collapses (post initial collapse)if they were no other forces at work on the other than gravity.

May I suggest researching impulse and how it relates to the transfer of momentum since the simple idea that M1V1+M2V2 before collision must be the total momentum of the system post collision isn't the whole story here.


Lunetoc is writing a book? A person who states that they have only just looked into a basic physical law that high school students of science are taught is going to write a book in which physics topics will be discussed!
It stands to be about as accurate as an episode of CSI Miami is concerning forensic work.
