The Boy and His Egg

Hi everyone, I've just got back from 50 years into the future where I came upon an examination of this case...

... Someone on an internet forum was asking the sceptics to prove that although birds exist, they hatch out of eggs and are relatively common sight in the skies, nests and trees, could they provide evidence that there was actually a baby bird contained in the baby bird container at that exact moment.

Well the sceptics posted photos of bird's nests in trees in the local area and had found photos of birds that were native to the area at the time of the incident... but as no one could actually find a photo of a baby bird on that street on that exact day, (I resisted the temptation to put 'eggsact'... but obviously not for long), it was concluded that it could EQUALLY have been a so far unseen, unevidenced and therefore unproven Baby Robot Egg.

Somethings never change.

That's okay. "Unidentified Frying Object" compensates for a few bad ones. :D

I find it chilling that it's still going on 50 years in the future. But at the rate that thread (only a fictional thread, of course, having nothing to do with blimps and UFOs) is going, I have no doubts that it can happen.

By the way, was the United States still there in the year 2059?

Completely... well I say that but it had become the United Space Federation States since the invasion of blimp like flying saucers from outer space in 2012.
Apparently, they had done a quick recon mission over the Rogue River area back in 49 and decided an area of such outstanding natural beauty was ripe for invasion... Plus, they wanted to see how well we were looking after the ancient temples they had built for us in Peru back in the day.
