Summarizing the OP:
"Danger Will Robinson, danger!"
"Don't get on that ship! The rest of the book 'To Serve Man', it's... it's a cookbook!"
"You tell everybody. Listen to me, Hatcher. You've gotta tell them! Soylent Green is people!"
"Look, you fools. You're in danger. Can't you see? They're after you. They're after all of us. Our wives, our children, everyone. They're here already. YOU'RE NEXT!"
I found a decent discussion of the Federal Reserve and the gold standard issues a couple years ago. But I can't find it now. I found these instead:
Professor Brad DeLong, an economist at Berkley (which has one of the top economics departments in the country) has a decent summary of the problems with returning to the gold standard. I believe it is shorter than the OP. It is definitely concise and easy to skim.
Talking Points on the Likely Consequences of Re-Establishment of a Gold Standard:
This blog entry has an interesting historical commentary on the Fed in only a couple paragraphs. It was interesting.
Should the Fed be abolished?
Certain groups of followers seem to find one issue they latch on to. The gold standard/Fed is one of those causes that has a chronic following. I find that aspect very interesting. I'm curious why it happens. It seem to act like imprinting acts on baby ducks.
Lyndon LaRouche followers were pushing this message in front of the post office here in town a couple months ago. And I need not mention Ron Paul and his followers. I find this personality niche to be more interesting than the economics.
But never mind.... carry on.
