The Biden Presidency

Ok, I didn't think I'd be up against the firing squad here. Or I would have concentrated on remembering the FL politician's name.. I don't know your country politics, but check out history on Susan Rice and Valerie Jarrett and the parts they play in U.S. politics, especially DEM party.

Susan Rice is head of a policy advisory board (no actual authority).

Valerie Jarrett does not currently serve as a public office holder.

Rather than sending us off to "find" some data points about their "history" to connect like little dots (ignoring every other data point you chose not to), could you please just make a plain statement of what nefarious web of deceit you think should be obvious to us by merely mentioning their names?

Also, to what extent you can muster, please stop trying to compare being corrected when you are wrong into being murdered.

It makes you look incapable of having a discussion with that reactive of a persecution complex.

This conversation reminds me that far too many people lack a sound epistemology. How we determine what is true and what isn't true might just be the most important skill that people need to learn.

Please refrain from personalising your posts.

Haters gotta hate.

Reminds me of...

Ted Cruz slams Biden's first weeks as 'boring.' Yes, and it's wonderful

Going further, though... it's remarkable how, to poke at a reply to Ted Cruz -

Vaccinating millions is boring?
GIving desperate families child credits is boring?
Helping people stave off eviction is boring?
Saving small businesses is boring?
Lifting 20M kids out of poverty is boring?
So you voted against your constituents AGAIN because it was boring?

actually does feel boring after the madness the previous guy caused as he continually tried to make everything about him. Democrats doing what they can to actually have government doing the things that it should and run normally is both radical and boring after the ****show that the Republicans ran. Actually working hard to make the health of the people of the US better is a dramatic reversal of GOP policy, for that matter.

In other news, though...

MyPillow Guy launching site to compete with YouTube and Twitter, because sure; why not?

*facepalm*

I also forget names all the time, and did much of the time long before I got old and before I broke my skull. I would suggest that the occasional lapse, especially when one is speaking in public, and especially when one is fighting a lifelong speech impediment, should not be taken as symptomatic of anything but what it is, namely an occasional problem recalling names.

If one disagrees with this, then to be fair and even handed one might point to instances in which our former president forgot names as well, though his characteristic solution is simply to make up wrong alternatives. I mean maybe his vice president really was Mike Pounce, and maybe there is a rapper named Lil Pimp. And what was the name of that Apple guy again?

He couldn't remember the name of the president of the U.S. Virgin Islands either.

“There are some who call him.....Tim!”

And, more on point, I just now couldn’t remember his last name for the life of me, which I know like my own. Maybe at 71 that’s par for the course. I guess I’ll worry more if I start forgetting my own name!

Apple, his name is Apple.

Just heard my favorite radio program and it's a call in program and the question posed was: Will Joe make it thru the 4 yrs...the general consensus was NO, and one woman compared him to where her mother with Alzheimers and she said he's at about an 8, I don't know the degrees. Many said he basically drags his feet across the floor on his short walks. I see no TV as I don't watch it anymore.

It's tragic, he's been failing for years and they all knew it.

I believe it's a matter of time and just what the drugs they are giving him does. Then it's President Harris and VP Pelosi (another oldie).

It was fun to watch a president with mental problems for four years, thinking he can't handle this and will retreat to Florida anytime. Populists get bored easily, like Jesse Ventura. But then when the president incited a riot and asked the crowd to lynch his VP, it was not fun anymore.

With Biden we will see an uneventful 4 years. He will come out of it a little better than Jimmy Carter as the economy recovers. Then I think we will see Harris as the candidate in 2024. Only need a Ted Cruz or equivalent running against her, and we are back to the Trump Hillary thing.

Your citation is a woman who called into a radio show.
If that’s the standard to be used, then my neighbor’s plumber’s lawyer said that Trump was way, way closer to having debilitating mental problems.

But more importantly, so what?
If Biden’s health declines to the point that he cannot govern, then the 25th Amendment to the Constitution will make Harris the president. It is another example of a peaceful and legal transition of power.

ETA
Not watching TV is fine. But don’t claim that you are unable to see examples of Biden’s walk. The internet should be filled with examples. But again, you must choose your citations carefully. One clip of Biden that Republicans point to as evidence of his decline is not accurate. They slowed down the recording to make Biden look like a confused dottard.

Also, Biden’s alleged foot-dragging might be caused by some neurological disease that has nothing to do with his mental acuity.

I'm losing my grasp of the timeline here, but was the foot draggin before or after he broke his foot playing with Major?

This is a thread about politics and specifically Biden’s presidency. Conspiracy theories/vaccine/covid denial nonsense have their own threads. Stick to the topic of this thread. As a reminder if someone posts something you think is off topic - report it don’t respond in thread or you are probably also posting off topic.

If you think the prez reviews policies down to the level of what kind of smoke grenades to use, you need a refresher on reality.

And yet, they are under Biden's control.

Spare me the straw man crap. I'm not suggesting that Biden hop on Air Force One and collect up all the cans of HC in Portland in a big duffel bag and chuck them into the sea.

Biden's administration is in charge of DHS, which very much has an obligation to ensure their agents are not using excessive force or otherwise violating constitutional rights while enforcing the law. There's a huge apparatus that make up this administration that exists to take care of problems, big and small.

Someone, somewhere along the line is not doing this who ought to be, and that's a reflects poorly on the entire administration until it is rectified.

One can never know, but Biden strikes me as the kind of man who would voluntarily and gracefully step down if and when real cognitive impairment reared it’s ugly head. I think the 25th Amendment is there more for involuntary removal from office.

"They never saw the sun": Lawyers describe overcrowded conditions for children in Border Patrol custody

"Some of the boys said that conditions were so overcrowded that they had to take turns sleeping on the floor," Desai added, citing interviews with nearly a dozen unaccompanied migrant children held at the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) holding facility in Donna, Texas.

On March 2, the Donna complex was holding more than 1,800 people — 729% of its pandemic-era capacity, which is designed for 250 migrants, according to an internal CBP document reviewed by CBS News.

Right, we're less than 2 months into Biden's presidency so why hasn't he solved the yuge humanitarian crisis Trump left him at the border, overhauled the entire DHS manual down to which way their shoes should be laced, vaccinated the entire population of the US willing or not, gotten a $50/hr minimum wage, and cured cancer yet?
