You know, I think this is the key to SirPhilip's whole argument. He thinks that Zeus was exactly like Queen (bisexual?). He believes that Zeus was an idealised image based on a concept. Hercules - well, those who worship "strength" could view him as the personification of strength.
I don't think this is exactly the same definition of "gods" that most people would use. I suppose I could also say that the Christian god is just a personification of the values of intolerance, oppression, and greed.
If you look at it that way, most modern Christians are really worshiping their god the same way Zeus was worshiped.
